Class of 2008 Upcoming Events
Autumn, 2008

Welcome back.   Hope your families are all off to a good start – and that
your SENIORS are ready for a full year!  Several activities for students and
parents in the class of 2008 are planned for the next two months.  We cannot
do these events without the involvement of students AND parents.  Your
ongoing involvement is essential to make this year a success.  If you are
able to lend a hand with one of the items listed below, please plan to sign
up on event sign-up sheets.  Faith Johnson has agreed to make these
available both at class social events (class coffee and parent social) and
circulated via email.  If you have any questions, please be in touch with
one of your class parents:

What follows are a few dates to remember for class activities during the
first half of the year.  Many more activities and information will be added
to the schedule; but please put these dates on your household calendar.  And
plan to work with parents taking the lead on various events to assist in
planning and organizing the events – these can be a success only with
involvement from across the parent community.

*     Thursday, September 6:  Brenda Delsener, Faith Johnson, and Rosie
Oberg have graciously offered to organize Senior Spirit Day.  Kick off the
morning of the start of senior year with an early arrival for students at
CCHS.  Juice, coffee, snacks available compliments of Class of 2008.
*     Friday, September 7:  Senior Portraits and Parent Ads due for
yearbook.  Details were sent in July to class of 2008 parents under separate
mailing.
*     Tuesday, September 11:  The Guidance Department will, in the evening
at CCHS cafeteria, present information to parents on post-secondary
planning.
*     Friday, September 14:  Student ads and baby pictures due for yearbook.
Details were sent in July to class of 2008 parents under separate mailing.
*     Friday, September 14: Class of 2008 Tailgate Party before football
game.  Plan to join other parents before the game to catch up.
*     Wednesday, September 19:  Parent Coffee at the home of Leslie Wagner –
9:30 am.  Come by to catch up with other parents after the summer hiatus AND
to sign up for volunteer opportunities.  Details to follow.
*     Thursday, September 20:  Student/faculty reception – after school.
Jill Robitaille and Nicole Benecasa have agreed to take lead in organizing
this event, and you should plan to hear more requests for help from Nicole
and Jill in September.  This is a good opportunity for seniors to discuss
the college reference process with teachers.
*     Friday, September 21:  “Senior Summer”, “Remember When” and “Sophomore
Semi and Junior Prom” photos due for yearbook. Details were sent in July to
class of 2008 parents under separate mailing.
*       Monday, September 24:  Back to School Night at CCHS.
*       Saturday, October 6:  SATs administered.  Last day to register
September 10.  See www.collegeboard.com.
*       Saturday, September 29:  Parent Social at the home of Genine and
Josh Tillotson.  Details to follow.
*       Saturday, November 3:  SATs administered.  Last day to register
October 2.  See www.collegeboard.com. .
*       Saturday, November 17: CCHS Unplugged:  Kathy and Paul Mandrioli
have agreed to coordinate this event.  Look for requests for assistance and
more details later.
*     Saturday, December 1:  SATs administered.  Last day to register
October 30.  See www.collegeboard.com.
*     Thursday, December 6:  Janet Gilles has once again volunteered to work
with students and class officers to offer a wreath sale on the day of parent
conferences at CCHS.
*       Friday, December 14:  All School Dance.  Faith Johnson and Jill
Robitaille have agreed to organize this event.  Look for information to
follow on assistance with food, water, chaperoning.
