*College: There's Still More To Talk About..,***
Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 7:30-9:00 pm in the CCHS Auditorium
*An evening forum in three parts for students and parents of the Class
of 2009 & 2008*
Presentation about general but often overlooked issues of *college
campus visits*, such as how to get the most out of a campus visit,
and/or overnight, what to do if an overnight goes awry, how to conduct a
college interview, using the Junior-Senior summer for college campus
visits, and what to consider if you're invited to party during an
overnight visit.
*Ethan Hoblitzelle*, CCHS Faculty in Social Studies will discuss the
*Gap Year*. A gap year between high school and college, common in
Europe, is occurring more often in the USA. Mr. Hoblitzelle took a gap
year when he was a student and will speak about the process he used to
make this decision, his experiences during the year, and what he and
others have done during their Gap Years. Reasons to take and not to
take a gap year will also be addressed.
*Nick Michael*, a college athletic consultant and father of two college
bound athletes, will discuss the *college application and recruitment
process specific to student athletes*. Many CCHS athletes go on to play
on competitive sports teams in college. For athletes who want to be
recruited to play college level sports there are unique strategies to
use in the college application process. In addition to the common
application and supplemental essays, the athlete must submit other
multimedia attachments in an earlier time frame. Please join us for a
discussion with Nick Michael.
Come hear the points you haven't heard before about where do we go from
here..
*College: There's Still More To Talk About..,** **is presented by the
Concord Carlisle Parents Initiative (CCPI) and is funded through the
Northwest Suburban Health Alliance/CHNA 15 with DoN funds through Lahey
Clinic. *
