Welcome Back Class of 2010 Parents,
We hope you all have had a wonderful summer. The class officers have met and are on their way to a successful and enjoyable sophomore year. They have taken responsibilities for at least some of the tasks. However, there are many parent run activities and opportunities for parents to support the students. Your leadership and help are essential to the success of the 2010 Class.
We need parents to help at or chair some events while working with the students. The following list describes the main events for the coming year and indicates if parent involvement is necessary. If you are interested in becoming involved with any of the events, please contact mary at horvaths.org.

September 24
Back to School Night
Student fundraiser requires a parent to supervise the exchange of money.

September 29
Freshman/Sophomore Dance
8 parent chaperones are required for all dances.  Please email mary at horvaths.org if you can chaperone this dance.

Fall Parent Social (Winter & Spring too)
We would like to continue something like last year's parent cocktail parties, which were enjoyed by all who attended.  We are seeking parents willing to host an event in their home.  You can suggest a date and type of event that works best for you.  Please contact any of the Parent Reps listed below.

November 2
Class 2010 Movie Night
Parents are needed to serve as chaperones.  Please email mary at horvaths.org if you can chaperone this event.

November 9
Tailgate Party
The Class Officers help run this event under the leadership of parents Sue Bumpus and Janice Battle.  Thanks for stepping forward to help, Sue and Janice!

November 13
Info Session for Parents of New or Soon-to-be Drivers
7:30pm in CCHS Library.  Nancy James, a Concord Insurance Agent, together with Scott Camillieri, Concord Police CCHS Security Officer, will host this information session.  Discussion of driving responsibilities and issues, aimed at keeping our young drivers safe.

December 3
Student fundraiser selling flip flops during the day.  Students and their teacher advisors will run this event.

December 6
Student fundraiser during Conference day (selling tshirts, flipflops, remaining blankets).  
Requires a parent to supervise.

January 23
Sophomore Parent Meeting with CCHS Guidance.  
This is an annual meeting for sophomore parents in which Guidance focuses on developmental factors affecting student achievement and a timeline for the college planning process.

January 28
Student fundraiser at the Summer Opportunity Fair.  
Requires a parent to supervise.

Weekend of February 8
Ski Trip, probably to Stowe.  Requires parent and teacher chaperones.  We need a 10:1 student to adult ratio.  It involves only 1 night, not 2.

February 29
Dance or Movie Night.  
Requires parent chaperones.

May 3
Sophomore Semi
This event will require at least one chairperson and possibly more.  For some, it is the big event of sophomore year.

Additional Opportunities
The class of 2010 also runs a concession table at Town Meetings held at CCHS.  
A parent is needed to oversee these fundraisers.
