Good Afternoon Students and Parents:
The information below is for a Summer Opportunity which has come to the
attention of the CCHS Guidance & Counseling Department.
I'd like to introduce you to Entrepreneur's Boot Camps
(http://www.entrepreneursbootcamps.com), and our 5-Day Program for High
School Students being offered this summer in the Boston area.
The program is scheduled for July 27 - 31 in Waltham and accepts a maximum
of 20 students. Our boot camp is a fun, motivating, and intensive week of
learning where students will bring their own ideas and projects (from
social causes to technology ventures), and learn how to develop them into
viable enterprises. As you know, gaining entrepreneurial skills will
differentiate students in school and in their college applications
process, as well as helping them succeed throughout life.
The program's lead instructor is Steven K. Gold, M.D. Steve is an
accomplished entrepreneur and investor who serves as Senior Partner for
Entrepreneurship at Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in Needham, MA
(http://www.olin.edu/). He is also author of a leading book on the topic,
Entrepreneur's Notebook: Practical Advice for Starting a New Business
Venture. At Olin, Steve teaches the required "Foundations of Business and
Entrepreneurship" course, where students become co-founders of their own
business ventures, and he mentors students who are starting businesses in
the college's incubator program. He enjoys working with high school
students, having once mentored a Junior Achievement team to become the top
grossing team nationally that year. Steve's passion is teaching
entrepreneurship, and his goal is to inspire and empower the next
generation of for-profit and non-profit entrepreneurs.
Steve is joined by 2 communications coaches. Dale Deletis taught public
speaking and English at Milton Academy for thirty years, and is the sole
speech consultant for Harvard Business School. Alexis Chen Johnson is a
communications expert whose clients include the Environmental Defense
Fund, Self-Employed Women's Association in India, and senior executives at
BRAC, the world's largest non-governmental organization (NGO), located in
Dhaka, Bangladesh. You can read full bios for all three instructors on the
Team section of our website (http://www.entrepreneursbootcamps.com).
The fee for the 5-Day program is $1,500.
I am happy to speak with you to provide more information about the program
and will email you a PDF flyer for you to use to promote the program to
interested students and parents.
If it makes sense, Steve is happy to come to school to conduct an info.
session for students and parents. He would also be willing to visit an
applicable class to present/work with students on some related course
material.
I can be reached at this email address, and at (781) 249-9496. Thank you
very much.
Best regards,
Deb Gold
