What a great first week for our Freshman Class!



Having caught our breath over Labor Day weekend, here are a few reminders of
events that you should have on your calendar:



*Friday evening, September 11:* *First varsity football game* of the season
at home!  7pm at CCHS against Methuen.  For football and all other sports at
CCHS – go to the CCHS website and look at the information provided by the
Athletic Department

*Saturday evening, September 12*: The Class of 2010 is hosting an *All
School Dance*.  The theme of the dance is "Hoedown Throwdown". Tickets will
be sold all lunch blocks in the cafe.  Look for more information via email.



*Wednesday evening, September 16 at 7:30pm in the auditorium:*  *2013 Parent
Meeting*, featuring our principal Mr. Badalament, representatives from the
Guidance Office and a panel of upper class students describing their
experiences at CCHS and answering your questions.  This is a great way to
get an overview of what your student should expect at CCHS!

* *

*Thursday evening, September 24*: *Back to School Night*. Parents have the
opportunity to experience their student's schedule and meet the teachers.  This
night you walk in your student’s shoes, going from classroom to classroom,
getting to hear each of your student’s teachers describe his/her
expectations for the class.  Be sure to pick up your copy of Connections –
the CCHS directory of students.  And don’t forget to stop by the Class of
2013 table where we will be selling CCHS clothing: t-shirts, boxers and
flannel pants.  These are very popular with kids and adults – think about
doing your birthday and holiday shopping early this year!



*Saturday evening, October 3*: *Parent Social for the class of 2013*, at the
home of Beth and Dan Holmes.  I



*Friday evening, October 16*: *Freshman Movie night* at CCHS



*Friday evening, October 23*: *Tailgate party for Class of 2013* and Class
of 2012 at CCHS before the football game



*Friday evening, October 30:* *All school Halloween Dance*, sponsored by the
Junior Class.

Orientation Day for our Freshmen*:



Freshman Orientation happened on the 1st of September with perfect weather
for outdoor get-to-know-your-classmate activities and a barbeque.  Thanks to
Brian Miller and Ray Pavlik, the faculty advisors for Class of 2013, for
leading such a great event.  Special thanks to the many upperclassmen and
faculty in their red t-shirts who brought such energy and fun to the
day.  Orientation
Captains who led the activities were: Sam Atwood, Elise Goodhue, CJ Horvath,
Julie Manganella, Joe Rinaldo and Anna Stabler.  The Barbeque fed nearly 400
hungry students and faculty!   Thank you to Julie Anastos for organizing
this and to all the parent volunteers at the grills and working the food
tables: Ann Lane, Teri Finigan, Marty Blue, Ed Wholihan, Renee Burns, Bonnie
Sellew, Ellen Canepa, Beth Holmes, Holly Salemy, Laura Schofield, Deedo
Painter, Ann Jackson Hill and Pat Bentley.  In addition, our thanks to the
maintenance staff who helped set up and take down all the tables and gear.
