This week during homeroom you will be filling out the Youth Risk Survey it
is very important that you attend. Please bring a pencil to homeroom.
Congratulations to the Voice, the official student newspaper of CCHS, for
placing in the Suffolk University 34th Annual Greater Boston High School
Newspaper Contest in the "editorial writing" category. Anyone interested
in writing for our award-winning publication should see Caroline Perry or
Mr. Nurenberg.
The deadline for registration for AP exams is Friday, March 19. The cost
of each exam is $82. Registration is with Mrs. Trainor in the Main Office.
Trivia Question for today: What 1999 movie starred Tim Allen, Sigourney
Weaver and Alan Rickman?
How are you doing with the trivia questions? Sign up for The 1st Annual
Trivia Contest to be held March 19th @ 7pm in the cafeteria. Teams up to
six are welcome or you can join a table that has fewer. Check out the
posters around the school. Send team names to class2007 at comcast.net
The Attendance Review Board will be meeting today @ 2:30 in A-7.
Seniors! The Class of 04 has been challenged by the Concord Police Dept.
to a game of basketball on April 2nd @ 7pm. Any senior interested in
representing the class should stop by the science office & put their name
in the open lottery. Players will be randomly selected. Dont miss out on
this one!
Come down to the WIQH studio on tonight from 6-7 to see Nora Lawrence
perform her original songs live on the Beat:Reflections Radio. If you
cant make the show tune in and listen to WIQH 88.3fm.
Attention any members of the scifi club who want to be ambassadors about
Japanese animation and anime - you must attend a mandatory meeting after
school today in H-11 with Mr. Nurenberg. It will only take about 10
minutes, but you need to come if you want to be an ambassador.
There will be a meeting for anyone who would like to tryout for girls JV
& varsity tennis on Wed., March 10th @ 2:10 in H-3.
Girl lacrosse players are invited to a captain practice today from
2:30-4:30 in the lower gym.
Interested in writing for the Third Wing? Be sure to attend the meeting
this Wed. after school in H-9. Topics from upcoming issue will be
assigned.
CONCORD COUNCIL ON AGING VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: Growing up/Growing Older.
Join students, staff, and community groups in this innovative, interactive
program designed to provide first hand experience in understanding the
challenges facing an aging population. Participants will experience a
simulated aging process using props, discuss experiences and review common
assumptions about matters of age for both youth and elders.In the CCHS,
Upper Library on THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2:30 4:30 pm. For more information
please see Ms. Delaney in the METCO Office.
The Concord Police Department will be sponsoring RAD for and adult
females. RAD is Rape Aggression Defense Systems, which is a realistic
self-defense program teaching risk reduction and avoidance strategies,
including hands-on defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program.
This is a five-week course using simple and easy to learn techniques,
providing an effective and proven method of self-defense for females. High
School females are encouraged to participate. RAD classes will be held
Tuesday evenings on March 16, 23, 30, and April 6, 13. Class times are
6:30PM to approximately 8:45PM. The first class, March 16th, 6:30PM will
be held at the Concord Police Department. The remaining classes will be
held at the Alcott School gymnasium. Class size is limited, to register
