DAILY BULLETIN

Directions to ski team party are available on the secretary’s desk in the
Social Studies office.

Attention Seniors!  Scholarship applications from various businesses,
reglious organizations, etc. are available in the Guidance Dept.  Please
see Mrs. McDonald in the Guidance Dept. for further details.

April is library month!  To celebrate, the library is hosting a reading
contest.  How many books can you read in 1 month?  Starting April 1st
through April 30th, for every book you finish, fill out an entry slip &
put it in the box in the lower library.  There will be prizes, so get
reading and tell your friends.

Congratulations to the members of the CCHS Orchestra and Concert Band who
participated in the MICCA music festival at Lexington Sunday. The two
groups played  before an audience of other participants and interested
supporters. 
Both groups received extensive evaluations by enthusiastic judges and
received gold metal ratings which allows for concerts in either Symphony
Hall in Boston or Tanglewood.  

The Library will host a discussion of Reading Lolita in Tehran on Thurs.,
April 8th @ 7pm in the Library.  The questions
Raised by this book are lively ones & should encourage a great discussion.
 We will concentrate on the 1st segment of the book.  Join us!

There will be a Reflections meeting today to make the Bio page for the
issue.    Don’t miss it if you want your picture on the page!

Congratulations to Alain Digon, Nick Palumbo, Derek McLane, Anthony Caro,
and Jonathon Cohen for getting 2nd place in the Fed Challenge on April
2nd.  You guys did a fantastic job!

Reflections will be announcing the winners of the Short Story Contest
Thurs., April 8th @ 2:30 at a reception in the Library.  Come and see
whose stories won and enjoy some refreshments.

Attention all WIQH members: It's time to apply to be a station manager
next year.  Stop by the station and see what you can do.  And if you're
not a WIQH member, you can still apply.  See Ned Roos at WIQH for more
information.  Applications must be completed by April 16.

Attention All Poets: It’s time to put together your entry for the English
Dept.’s annual Paula Sirois (pronounced sih-roy) Poetry Contest.  Bring
your two or three poems to the English Office- no names please, your entry
will be assigned a number.  The deadline is today. 

Nomination forms are available from Mrs. Coleman in the main office for
the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest Service Award for Outstanding Service
in the Field of Human Services.  A student may be nominated by someone or
nominate themselves.  Some examples of community service would be -
Student plans and provides support services for an impaired/confined
student, adult, or senior citizen.  Student organizes a group clean-up,
repair or maintenance project for an individual or agency.  Student works
with a child who can benefit from extra help and encouragement in the
arts, athletics, etc.   Nomination deadline is April 14th.  Nomination
forms will not be accepted after that date.  Nomination forms should be
returned to Mrs. Coleman in the main office.

Maureen Taggart Community Service Award
Under the guidance of the Recreation Commission, the Maureen Taggart
Memorial Award is open to any high school Senior who is a resident of
Concord or Carlisle.  The candidate will have demonstrated exemplary
voluntary service to his/her community.  The unique feature of this award
is that the recipient has the privilege to designating a deserving
organization to receive a financial grant in Maureen's name.  Nominations
may be made by the citizenry of Concord and Carlisle and any faculty
member or student of the candidates school.  Nomination forms may be
picked up from Mrs. Coleman in the main office.  Nomination forms must be
returned to Mrs. Coleman by April 26th.
