+++++ HOME RUN DERBY +++++

Saturday, April 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CCHS softball field 
there will
be a home run derby to benefit the  CCHS softball teams. The first two 
prizes are
sets of Red Sox tickets. There will also be $50 cash prizes. The cost to 
play is
10 balls for $10 (adults), 10 balls for $5 (teens), and 10 balls for $3 
(12 & under).
Prize categories include: most over the fence and furthest hit ball. 
Come out all
you "heavy hitters" and support the team!

+++++ COMMUNITY CALL TO ACTION +++++
Dr. Paul Farmer, Founder of Partners  in Health, and subject of Tracy 
Kidder's book,
Mountains Beyond Mountains, will speak and issue a Community Call to 
Action,
Thursday, May 5, 8 p.m., at Concord Carlisle Regional High School, upper 
gym.
Doors open at 7 p.m.  Admission is $20 at the door, with proceeds benefiting
Dr. Farmer's  organization, Partners in Health. Tickets are also 
available at West
Concord Supermarket, Concord Bookshop, West Concord 5&10, and the
Grasshopper Shop. Parking is limited and carpooling is  encouraged. 
Carpool and
shuttle parking available at Crosby's Market. Shuttle service to the 
event will
begin  at 7:10 pm. The event is co-sponsored by  Concord-Carlisle Read Talk
Share, One Book, One Lincoln, Middlesex School, and Friends of Warburg 
Library.
Dr. Farmer will be introduced by Dinny McIntyre. The community event will be
preceded by a limited-seating, private reception and discussion with Dr. 
Farmer
for donors of $1,000 or more. Reservations for the private reception are 
available
by calling Becky at 978-930-4629 or by sending email to BEEZA10 at aol.com.
The mission of Partners in  Health is to bring first-class medical care to
the poor. Farmer will discuss specific ways people can promote the work of
Partners in Health in Haiti, Peru, Siberia, and Roxbury. Farmer is the 
recipient of a
1993 John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation "genius award" as 
well as
the Heinz Award for the Human Condition.
