A correction to the chit-chat: The senior class parent coffee & the Post
Secondary Planning Meeting are going to be held together Wednesday from
7-9pm in the caf.
Attention Freshman and Sophomores! This Saturday is the
Freshman/Sophomore Dance. Yes, this Saturday!! Tickets will be on sale
in the caf during lunch blocks this week. Tickets will be $10 and will
not be sold at the door. Only Freshman and Sophomores are allowed at this
dance.
A school in Baton Rouge has asked for our help to collect materials so
that it may provide them to its students hit hardest by hurricane Katrina.
New or used school or art supplies in good condition may be donated in
the library by the lower level ramp. Thank you for your help.
Do you like discussing history, politics, cultural patterns and other
mind-expanding topics? Please join us, The History Reading Group today at
2:30 in H-5 for a brief but very important meeting.
All students interested in participating in the Academic Bowl should come
to take the kick-off test on Monday or Tuesday at 2:15 in S-21. We'll
start promptly at 2:15, and expect it to take until 3:00. If you want to
participate in Academic Bowl, but will have difficulty coming Monday or
Tuesday, see Mr. Atlas in S-21 this week.
Are you interested in reading books with a multi-cultural perspective?
Come on down to the multi-cultural reading group on THURSDAYS at 2:15 in
H-14 -- We are going to begin with Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison!

Are you interested in having a radio show or becoming otherwise involved
in the radio station? There's a meeting tomorrow after school at the radio
station in the I-building for you. You can sign up to be a member and get
more info too!.
Peer leadership is embarking on an exciting new mentoring program w/Alcott
school for students who wish to mentor & develop a relationship with an
Alcott student. This can be a great opportunity to impact a young students
life while earning community service hours. We need 30 students to
participate. Our 1st meeting will be tomorrow @ 2:15 in the CCHS library.
The Math Team will have its first practice of the year today in S-18.
Come and find out what its all about! Refreshments will be served. See

Come to the first official meeting of the scifi/fantasy club today at 2:30
pm in H-12. All are welcome, and new members are encouraged! Bring your
appetite for pizza and your suggestions for fantasy book group. Arrigato
Gozaimas!
The Science Olympiad team will be having its first meeting tomorrow @
2:15 in S-12. All are welcome to join us and get info. Food will be
provided.
Come to the Third Wing meeting Thursday @2:15 in H-4.
Senior Wellness project completed over the summer are due this Friday,
Sept. 16.
Attention all clubs & individuals interested in helping w/CCHSs Katrina
relief effort, please come to a meeting in I-4 @7am.
Travel to Puerto Rico during February break! The Foreign Language
Department is sponsoring a one week trip to Puerto Rico in February. We
will learn about the history, culture and natural environment. Interested
Spanish students must attend an informational meeting with a parent or
guardian Monday, Sept. 19 to be eligible.
Do you know how to submit senior photos? Hard copies may be submitted
(wallet size or bigger). The preferred method is a digital print
(preferred on CD but could be as an email attachment). All digital prints
need to be 300dpi and a size of 3x2. The deadline is September 30th. Send
to Ms. Karban or yearbook at colonial.net.
Attention all people interested in being a part of the radio station. If
you would like to join the station, please come too the new members
meeting Thursday the fifteenth after school in the radio station.
The parking in front of the school including around the islands and at
times on the islands themselves, has become a safety issue. The Concord
Police Department and Concord Fire Department ask that motorists obey and
respect the No Parking signs that are posted. Should an emergency occur it
is important that emergency vehicles have access and not be impeded by
illegally parked vehicles. The fine for parking in a No Parking zone is
$15.00. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please be advised that walking on the train tracks behind school is an
arrestable offense. The Concord Police will be monitoring activity on the
train tracks. Please do not walk on the tracks or you will be trespassing.
