+++++ *TALK ON ATTITUDE APTITUDE* +++++
On *Wednesday, October 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at CCHS*, CC
Community Education is sponsoring a free community talk for students,
parents, educators, and counselors, on the topic "Attitude Aptitude: How
Learned Optimism can help high school and college students succeed."
In this introductory presentation to the "Attitude Aptitude" inner prep
course for teenagers, to be held at CCHS on December 9 and 10, the
facilitator Robin L. Zucker, MDiv., will share the research-based premise of
the program--the pioneering work of Dr. Martin E.P. Seligman in the field
of positive psychology. Robin will also offer an overview of the 10-hour
workshop's creative, hands-on exercises that will help students learn and
practice the optimistic attitudes that lead to increased self-awareness and
resilience, reduced stress, enhanced life skills, deeper personal
fulfillment, and greater success in academics, athletics, avocations, and
relationships. Individuals attending the talk will have a chance to sample
some of these exercises for themselves. Although the talk is free, please
*register through Concord Carlisle Community Ed at http://ace.colonial.net
or AdultEd at colonial.net, 978-318-1540.* This free introductory talk will
also be
held at Acton-Boxboro HS on *Wednesday, October 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. Please
pre-register through AB Community Ed at http://comed.ab.mec.edu or
978-266-2525*.

+++++* HARVARD OPPORTUNES FUNDRAISER* +++++
On *Saturday, October 22*, *at 7:30 p.m. in the CCHS cafeteria*, Harvard

"A Time To Shine" is
sponsored by Concord Carlisle Patrons of Performing Students (CCPOPS), a
non-profit organization
created to support the CCHS students involved in the performing arts,
