groups conducted in spring 2005. Quantitative and qualitative baseline
data will be provided to help us understand our youths' perceptions of
their assets and their connection to our community, neighborhoods,
schools, families, and peers. This presentation will take place on
*Thursday, November 10, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Fenn School, in the
Multi-Purpose Room of the Boll Building, 516 Monument Street, Concord*.
Dr. Wayne Harding, Director of Projects for Social Science Research and
Evaluation, Inc, of Burlington, MA, will be the main presenter. Mr.
Harding has provided direction, consultation, and interpretation
throughout this project. A core value of the Alliance for Teen Safety is
to promote the assets of youth to strengthen and build the overall
assets of the community as a caring and nurturing place for everyone.
Youth are a critical component of our community and have significant
contributions that they would like to share. Please come and hear their
voices. The process for fostering a youth community built on assets can
begin with a collaboration and involvement of all sectors in our
community. *For additional information, please e-mail

+++++* CCHS PRESENTS /DRACULA/* +++++
Looking for a frightening way to spend part of a crisp autumn weekend?
CCHS sinks its dramatic teeth into a "fall of horror" with the exciting
production of the classic tale /Dracula/ in a 1995 adaptation by Steven
Dietz of the Bram Stoker novel. There will be plenty of shrieks and
creaks as Dracula matches wits with the mad and sane, the beautiful and
ghastly. (Parents, this tale may not be suitable for children under 12
years old unless you want to stay up a few evenings fighting off their
nightmares. The faint of heart may need a cup of warm cocoa to help them
sleep as well!) /Dracula/ will be performed in the *CCHS auditorium on
Friday and Saturday, November 4 and 5, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday,
November 6, at 2:30 p.m.* Tickets are $12 at ccpops.org or at the door.
+++++* "WORLD OF FASHION" EVENT* +++++
The CCHS Cheer Team is sponsoring "A World of Fashion Show" on *Sunday,
November 20, at the HS auditorium from 3 to 5 p.m.* A VIP reception and
refreshments will follow in the cafeteria from 5 to 6 p.m. The "Simon
Evening of Giving" at the Burlington Mall is from 7 to 10 p.m. The mall
is closed to the general public and will only open their doors to folks
with VIP passes, which we are offering for that evening also. The mall
is having a silent auction, special discounts, entertainment, and door
prizes. The clothing being modeled will be from Marshall's in Bedford,
as well as many local stores in the Concord and West Concord area.
Tickets are available at The Concord Toy Shop, the West Concord 5&10,
and Ferns in Carlisle. Fashion show tickets
are $10, Mall VIP tickets alone are $10, but if purchased together, the
Fashion Show ticket with the Simon mall ticket are only $15. A cheer
store is being set up at the school, and tickets will be available for
purchase there
also. We are having students, parents, and teachers from CCHS, as well
as all the local schools, modeling in this show. This a family event and
should be quite entertaining.
+++++* WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS* +++++
