+++++* TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION DINNER *+++++

We are requesting that parents and students donate baked goods and other
food items to present as gifts to the staff and teachers on *Thursday,
December 8*, during our annual *Teacher and Staff Appreciation Dinner*.
Please deliver all items to the *Faculty Dining Room between 1 and 4
p.m.* on Conference Day (Thursday, Dec. 8). In previous years, with the
support and tremendous generosity of our CC community, we have been able
to present every teacher and staff member with a gift! Appreciation
notes or cards are encouraged but cannot be addressed to specific
faculty members. Some popular items have been breads, cookies, muffins,
tea, honey, coffee, cards, pies, nuts, and candy. *Please contact Kate
Bird at birds.house4 at verizon.net or 978-369-0100, or Anita Tekle at

+++++* DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS PRESENTATION *+++++

How Many of the 40 Developmental Assets does Concord Have? The Alliance
for Teen Safety cordially invites you to a community presentation on the
developmental assets of our youth. These assets describe the supports
and opportunities available in our community that promote positive youth
development. Information obtained from a Search Institute Survey given
in the fall of 2004 as well as youth focus groups conducted in spring
2005 will help parents, business owners, educators, and other community
leaders understand our youths' perceptions of their experiences growing
up in our community. This presentation will take place on *Thursday,
November 10, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Fenn School, in the Multi-Purpose
Room of the Boll Building, 516 Monument Street, Concord*. Dr. Wayne
Harding, Director of Projects for Social Science Research and
Evaluation, Inc, of Burlington, MA, will be the main presenter. Mr.
Harding has provided direction, consultation, and interpretation
throughout this project. A core value of the Alliance for Teen Safety is
to promote the assets of youth to strengthen and build the overall
assets of the community as a caring and nurturing place for everyone.
Youth are a critical component of our community and have significant
contributions that they would like to share. Please come and hear their
voices. The process for fostering a youth community built on assets can
begin with a collaboration and involvement of all sectors in our
community. *For additional information, please e-mail
cc4youth at colonial.net or call 978-835-2729*.

+++++* /DRACULA /OPENS TONIGHT AT CCHS* +++++

Looking for a frightening way to spend part of this weekend? CCHS sinks
its dramatic teeth into the classic tale /Dracula/ in an adaptation of
the Bram Stoker novel. There will be plenty of shrieks and creaks as
Dracula matches wits with the mad and sane, the beautiful and ghastly.
(Parents, this tale may not be suitable for children under
12.) /Dracula/ will be performed in the *CCHS auditorium on Friday and
Saturday, November 4 and 5, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 6, at
2:30 p.m.* Tickets are $12 at the door.

+++++* CLASS OF 2006 PARENT COFFEE* +++++

Parents of Seniors will be gathering at the *Carlisle* home of *Vina and
Jayesh Patel, 204 Davis Road*, off Maple Street, *next Wednesday night,*
*November 9, at 7:30*. Come enjoy refreshments and good conversation.
How has the year been going for your student? Share insights on what has
been working for your family. If you have test or college guide books
you are willing to share, bring them. Hey, we could even talk about
ourselves and what we've been up to. Thanks to the Patels for hosting
this event. See you all there.

+++++* CC POOLS MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE CAMPAIGN **UPDATE* +++++

Just six weeks into the quest to raise $1,000,000 before December 31, C.
C. Pools, Inc. has raised over $300,000 for the Concord Carlisle
Community Swim & Health Center. The Million Dollar Challenge, issued by
an anonymous donor, will match dollar for dollar every new donation or
pledge made before *December 31, 2005*. That means all gifts go twice as
far. The Center, which is being built with private donations, will be
given to the
Town of Concord and run by the Concord Recreation Department upon
completion. Help meet the Million Dollar Challenge before the end of the
year! All donations are tax-deductible. *Checks may be sent to C. C.
Pools, Inc., 66 Commonwealth Avenue, Concord, MA 01742, or donations
charged by calling 978-371-4936*.
