[CCHS] Community Service opportunities

Hello everyone,

	I neglected to mention this is the Newsletter article. You should know
that there is a committee of parents and community volunteers who are
actively working to expand community service volunteer opportunities for
the students. This represents extraordinary effort on the part of these
volunteers. The group has only recently begun, but over time I believe
their work will be a terrific benefit to our students. 
	
	So far...
 	o    They have established a community service bulletin board by the
front door with update posting of opportunities for students.
 	o    Parents, faculty, staff and students are able to communicate with
them via  email or a postbox in the main office. 2volunteer at colonial.net
is the email address.
	o    They have created a listing of current volunteer opportunities and
will be updating them monthly or when there are a large number of new
choices.

	They will be at CCHS during some lunches, which will be announced in
advance, to let students sign up for email notification of opportunities
in areas they are interested in and will also give students a list of
current opportunities. The people who are coordinating this include
Barbara Howland, Kate McCandless and David Holdorf. Many thanks to them
for taking on this important project.
