+++++*COMMUNITY ED. COURSES*+++++

Concord-Carlisle Schools in cooperation with Adult & Community Education 
will host over 200 courses for local residents this winter. They are all 
self-funded with student fees. Community Chest assistance is available 
by contacting Community Ed. Some upcoming courses of interest to parents 
and familes include:
*How to Organize and Say Goodbye to Clutter--*The kids are finally back 
in school. Now it's time to get things in order! In a 3-night class 
starting this month at Concord-Carlisle Adult & Community Education, 
learn strategies and tactics to get rid of clutter. Taught by a 
professional organizer, this class is for anyone who knows the general 
principles of organizing and wants to implement them. The class meets 
from *7 to 8:30 p.m., January 17 through 31*, and the fee is $75. For

*Yoga for Women*--Based on the popularity of our "Yoga for Women in 
Midlife" class, Community Ed has added another class on Thursday nights 
starting this month. Taught by Claire Willis, Yoga teacher and 
therapist, the class is for new and continuing students. Learn to relax 
the body deeply, reduce anxiety, and quiet the mind. Classes meet in the 
instructor's studio off Lowell Road, on 10 Thursdays, January 19 through 
March 30, from 6:45 to 8 p.m., and the fee is $100. For more

+++++*SAT TEST PREP*+++++

Concord-Carlisle Adult & Community Education hosts two organizations 
that offer SAT test preparation classes at CCHS: Summit Education Group 
and Kaplan Test Prep:
*Summit Education Group*--Summit offers two classes (Tuesday or Thursday 
night) for the May 6 SAT.
The course consists of 38 hours of preparation, including a diagnostic 
test to assess strengths and weaknesses and practice tests to assess 
progress throughout the program. Students should register at least a 
week in advance or space may be limited. Each class meets from *6 to 
9:30 p.m. on Thursdays, January 26 through May 4, or Tuesdays, January 
31 through May 2*. To register, please call Concord-Carlisle Community 
Education at *978-318-1540 (318-1432 nights)*. Fee: $550.
*Kaplan Test Prep*--Community Education hosts two Kaplan SAT test 
preparation programs at CCHS
for the spring SAT's. Kaplan's well-known program will prepare students 
to excel on the SAT. Both class meets from *6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays 
and Thursdays, from Feb. 9 through May 2, or March 16 through May 4*. To 
enroll *call Kaplan directly at 800-KAP-TEST*. Fee $899.

+++++*EVENING WITH THE SPECIAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR*+++++

The Concord Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SPED PAC) is 
hosting "An Evening with the Sped Director" on *Thursday, January 26 
from 6:30 to 8:30 at CCHS in the Little Theater*.  During this 
informative presentation, Jessica Murphy will update us on her 
accomplishments as SPED director as well as answer questions collected 
from the SPED PAC membership. *For more information visit us at on the

+++++*25TH ANNUAL SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES FAIR*+++++

Come beat the winter blues at the 25th Anniversary Summer Opportunities 
Fair featuring free anniversary treats and a rainbow of opportunities 
for all! The Summer Opportunities Fair will be held *Monday, January 30, 
from
5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the CCHS cafeteria*. Whether you want to sail the 
Caribbean this summer or sharpen your French skills, the Summer 
Opportunities Fair has something for you. Representatives from over 80 
organizations will be on hand to present information about summer 
opportunities locally, nationally, and abroad. Exhibitors will display 
information on traditional summer camps, special needs programs, 
wilderness adventures, education and enrichment opportunities, sports 
camps, foreign language and student exchange programs, community service 
trips, and more. Admission is free. Refreshments will be available. (The 
snow date is Tuesday, January 31, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.) Questions?

In the case of a delayed opening, school will begin at 8:35 a.m. instead 
of 7:35 a.m. Buses will arrive at bus stops one hour later than usual in 
the morning. Classes will end at the regular time, 2:05 p.m.
