+++++*"TEACHERS ON (THIN) ICE*"+++++

Next weekend (*Saturday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the CCHS auditorium*), 
the Concord-Carlisle Teachers' Association will present the 2006 faculty 
show, "Teachers on (Thin) Ice." The faculty show, a fundraising event 
for the Concord-Carlisle Teachers' Association, is a semi-annual send-up 
of life at CCHS. Past formats have included "The Academe Awards: Awards 
for Questionable Methods in Lower Education" and "A Farewell to the 
Queen" (in honor of retiring principal Elaine DiCicco). This year, 
advance word has it that the teachers are spoofing the idea of education 
run like a business--hilarity is guaranteed. Tickets ($15, make checks 
payable to CCTA) will be on sale in the cafeteria during lunch blocks 
beginning Monday, May 1. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

+++++*CONCORD REC CONCERT*+++++

Concord Recreation will host a concert this *Saturday, April 29, at 7:30 
p.m.* The night will feature "Jared and the Freshman," CCHS Battle of 
the Bands winner and will be headlined by local Boston band "Waltham" 
(check out there web site, www.walthamtheband.com 
<http://www.walthamtheband.com>). Frank, lead singer of "Waltham,"was 
featured on MTV's "Made" show remaking a high school band. Tickets are 
$15 and are on sale during lunch blocks all week or* contact T.J. at the 
Recreation Department (978) 369-6460. *Tickets will be sold at the door.

+++++*RED SOX TICKETS AND AUTOGRAPHED YAZ BALL*+++++

Buy your Red Sox raffle tickets during lunch blocks *Monday through 
Friday, May 1 through 5, in the CCHS cafeteria* for a chance to win 
tickets to Red Sox games and an autographed Carl Yastrzemski baseball.

+++++*DECORATIONS PARTY FOR ALL NIGHT LIVE*+++++

We're at it again: cutting, painting, measuring, and doing other fun 
tasks to get the decorations ready for the all-night graduation event. 
This is  a parent-sponsored party for our graduates, and parents of all 
grade levels (not just seniors) should get involved with pre-event help 
or  chaperoning. Your volunteering would be greatly appreciated by the 
committee. Please join us *Thursday May 4, at 7 p.m. in the CCHS

+++++*FACULTY RECITAL*+++++

The faculty of the Instrumental Music School of Carlisle and Concord 
(IMSCC) present a recital at *7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, at Corey 
Auditorium in the Carlisle Public Schools*. Students, parents, and the 
public are invited. The event is free but donations are welcome.

+++++*CC UNPLUGGED*+++++

CC Unplugged takes place today, *Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in the CCHS 
cafeteria* (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). Tickets are $10 and can be 
purchased at the door. Come see unplugged bands, instrumentalists, 
vocalists, comedians, and other related acts. Everyone is invited.
*Attention 2006 Parents*: We Need Baked Goods for Unplugged! Anyone 
interested in donating something to share (e.g., cookies, brownies, 
cupcakes) bring it to the caf on Friday between 3 and 7 p.m. Thank you!

+++++*COLLEGE ADMISSIONS TALK*+++++

Local author and certified college admissions counselor Susan Whalley 
will be speaking on May 4 and 11 on the subject of "Navigating College 
Admissions." Ms. Whalley has authored three books on the admissions 
process. Please join her  *Thursday, May 4 at the RE/MAX Walden County 
office, 48 Thoreau Street, Concord* or
*Thursday, May 11  at Carlisle's Gleason Library, 3rd floor*. Both 
sessions are free to the public and start at *7 p.m.* Reservations are
