[CCHS] Today's graduation

Good morning,
In addition to seeing the rain this morning and checking weather service
information, I have walked the field. My overriding concern at this time
is the state of the field. The actual crown of the playing area (where
I'll be on the podium) is not so bad. However, everywhere people would
have to walk and much of the area graduates would have to sit is in
standing water, some over the top edges of my shoes. It is for that
reason, even more than the actual falling rain that I feel compelled to
decide that GRADUATION WILL BE INDOORS TODAY.
Each graduate received 4 purple tickets clearly marked "Rain Ticket
attendance in the Gymnasium" and 2 ivory colored tickets clearly marked
"Rain Ticket attendance in the Auditorium". I have to very respectfully
ask that you honor those tickets and not be trying to squeeze extra people
into either venue. I can assure you that the indoor graduation will be
extremely crowded with the limits I have imposed. We have more than 300
graduates. If each brings 4 people to the gym we will easily exceed the
capacity of the bleachers (about 1100). People will definitely be sitting
cheek to cheek. We have slightly fewer than 600 seats in the auditorium.
Again, we will easily fill every seat.
Please cooperate so that a very difficult decision does not become more
difficult for everyone involved.
I am sorry to bring us indoors, as the outdoor graduation is generally a
better situation.
You will not need the sunblock today.
