Hello to all,
Without doubt, if you drop your child off at school in the morning you
know that safely negotiating traffic is a challenge. The police have been
working with us to create a better flow. Detective Camilleri and Inspector
Mulcahy have asked me to forward the message below. Please consider their
thoughts as you plan your next drop off day.

Planning & Patience for a safe student drop off:
As we all know CCHS is a hopping place from 7AM-7:40AM in the morning
along with the Beede Pool. When dropping off students in the morning at
CCHS the Concord Police Department request planning and patience for a
safe drop off, or drop and go!
The planning part is probably the most important and this means that the
student has everything they need to exit the vehicle, backpack, lunch
money, sports equipment, instrument etc. This would be a simple drop and
go! When commuters arrive at school and take time to get the back pack out
of the trunk, look for lunch money, get the school project etc. it slows
up the traffic flow. Then vehicles from behind start going around each
other and the driveway turns into a Slalom course. Also I think its great
that the students with driving permits gain experience driving to CCHS,
but again the parent and student exiting and switching in traffic can be
dangerous and takes time. If you need more time to drop off we ask that
you use the gym entrance or the L Building entrance which is the
student parking lot entrance, there is less traffic and more room for
vehicles.
The patience part is to wait, in the flow of traffic, for a proper and
safe location to drop your child off.
Inspector (safety Officer) Tom Mulcahy and I have been monitoring the
traffic flow and will continue to do so for few more days. We have also
have asked for input from the bus drivers, School administrators and Beede
Pool personnel. We welcome your input. You can contact us at [
