*+++++** CHORUS AND ORCHESTRA DO SCHUBERT** * *+++++*

The Concord-Carlisle High School Chorus and Orchestra will hold a very
special joint concert on *Thursday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the CCHS
auditorium*. For the first time in many years the Chorus, under the
direction of Deborah Smith and the Orchestra, directed by Scott Knopf,
are collaborating on a major work, Franz Schubert's Mass in G. Written
in only five days in 1815, this is the second of Schubert's seven
masses, composed specifically for the parish church in his German home
town. Student soloists featured in the piece are Frank Cannon, Noragh
Devlin, Nicole Guild, Peter Lesser, Catherine O'Kelly, Campbell Payne,
Russell Peck, and Lisa Yanofsky. The Select Choir and the Women's
Ensemble will be performing works by Palestrina, Hassler, and others.
The performance is free and open to the public.

25 at 7 p.m.* to hear our own board members Liz Hopkinson and Melody
Orfei, of Triad Advocacy, untangle the mystery of these terms and
explain what the differences between them are, as well as answer any
questions. Both women are Special Education Advocates trained by the
Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) and the Mass. Advocacy
Center (MAC). In the case of severe snow or school closings, the event
will be held January 30. *For directions or more information visit
