There will be an all school dance on Saturday, Feb. 10th. Tickets are $10
and are available during lunch blocks this week.
The Red Ribbon Campaigns benefit concert featuring STATE RADIO is
tomorrow! The show will go from 5:30-9:30pm, tickets are $20 and are on
sale all lunch blocks.
Second Annual Community Service Opportunities Fair will be held during
Health Week today, from 10:30 am to1:00 pm, in the Cafeteria.
Todays Health question: Nationwide, what percent of high school students
report smoking a cigarette at least once in the last month? If you think
you know the answer, bring your answer to Mrs. Trainor in the main office.
Everyday a winner will be chosen and a valuable prize will be awarded!
The American Mathematics Competition exam will take place during E and F
blocks today in Rooms S-27, S-28, and S-29. Please report to your
assigned room at the beginning of E block. See Ms. Patton with questions.
You're invited to attend the following program - free of charge - and also
may receive extra credit for attending by checking with your English
teachers.
Dr. Jean Kilbourne is coming to the CCHS Auditorium on Monday, Feb. 12 at
7:30 PM. She will speak on: "Deadly Persuasion: The Influence of
Advertising on Teenagers." Come learn about the advertising industry
and how it influences our choices and our collective thinking as a
society! Dr. Kilbourne is one of the top 3 most popular lecturers on
college campuses. She has been called a "superstar lecturer" by the

Certificates for credit will be given out that evening before the program
begins. Ask at the registration table. We hope to see you there!
There are still some tickets available for the CCPOPS theater trip on
Sunday, February 11th to see DOUBT. The bus will leave CCHS at 3:30pm and
the performance starts at 5:00pm. Tickets are $40.00 which includes your
ticket and round trip bus transportation.
There are forms on the bulletin board outside the chorus room. Please

Congratulations to Saturday night's Tenth Annual Battle of the Bands
winners! Third place went to Jared and the Freshmen. There was no second
place winner because instead... there was a TIE for first between Uncle
Babushka and Pax Romana! Congrats to the winners and to all the bands on
their outstanding performances.
Kick off Semester Two by coming to sci-fi club this Wednesday at 2:30 in
H-12. We'll have pizza, show the placecountry-regionJapan sister city
exchange video. Veterans welcome, and if f you've never come, this is the
perfect time to join the fellowship.
Come debate the Death Penalty at Junior State Wednesday, 6pm, H-3.

Attention members of Serious Repercussions: Please meet in the band room
Wednesday at\3:00 PM to load equipment for our afternoon performance at
the AlcottSchool. See Señor Pohl in the L building if you have any
questions.
The WIQH Raffle has gone into overtime! You can still purchase tickets
for only $2 from your nearest WIQH member. But don't wait. You only have
until Thursday to enter to win!!
All students are reminded to check the student message board on the window
of the Main office for messages. It is especially important now that
Quarter 2 has ended. There are quite a number student names listed to see
Mrs. Merry. Now if the time to clear up attendance questions before
report cards are printed next week.
Scholarship information from Independent Companies is now available
On-Line through the Naviance Program. Seniors should also check that
program periodically to obtain additional information on new scholarships.
Any senior who has heard from a college or colleges regarding their
admission status should stop by the Guidance/Counseling department & let
their counselor and /or Mrs. McDonald know as soon as possible.
There has been some confusion about the March professional day. March
15th is the professional day for K-12.
