*+++++** FORUM ON ADOLESCENTS** * *+++++*

On *Monday, March 5, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the CCHS library*, the
CMS PTG and CCHS Parents Association will host a presentation on
"Building the Strength Within: Promoting Adolescents' Resilience and
Emotional Well-being" by Dr. Nadja Reilly. In her presentation, Dr.
Reilly will define "resilience" and share why this trait is crucial to a
teenager's mental health and well-being. She also will:

    * Review the two diagnoses frequently seen in adolescents: anxiety
      and depression, and how to detect their manifestations at home and
      school.
    * Explain how to distinguish typical or transient mood disturbances
      from clinically significant distress.
    * Discuss the different types of clinical help available to teens
      and their families.
    * Offer helpful tips and exercises on what the family can to to
      build resilience;
    * Provide ideas on how teens can respond to and help friends who are
      in distress.

*+++++** /SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR PERFECT KID/** * *+++++*
*
*The Concord Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SPED PAC) is
"outing" imperfection! Are you the parent of a "special" kid? Tired of
hearing about other kids' "amazing" achievements? Whether or not your
child has an IEP, 504, or just marches to their own beat, check out this
presentation: "Shut Up About Your Perfect Kid!" on *Monday, March 26
from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Ripley Building*. Two hilarious sisters, moms
of their own "special" kids (one with Aspergers, one bipolar) will share
their uplifting and humorous experiences about what it means to have
imperfect kids in a "perfect" world. Visit their website
www.shutupabout.com <http://www.shutupabout.com>. Presentation is free
and open to everyone; sponsored by Concord SPED PAC
(www.concordspedpac.org <http://www.concordspedpac.org>). The SPED PAC
business meeting scheduled for that night will take place immediately
beforehand, from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and interested parents are encouraged to
participate.

On *Sunday, March 11*, there will be a CCHS music and theater student

Director
from 1999-2005, his wife Patty Brown, and their new daughter, Cassie,
who was born on December 27, 2006. We hope that current students,
