Come to  Junior  State this Wednesday in H-3 at  6pm. We will be debating
GUN CONTROL in response to last weeks attacks at Virginia Tech. Members
who are interested in running for next year's school JSA cabinet will be
declaring their candidacy.  

The NHS inductees have been posted on the bulletin board.  Please confirm
that your name is spelled correctly. Make corrections as necessary. 
Tuesday, May15 is NHS induction night!

Any underclassmen interested in attending the Global Warming Summit in the
Fall (2007) please sign up at the NHS Bulletin board.  There is a
mandatory meeting on May 3.  We are looking for 2 more enthusiastic
underclassmen.

Winners of the Reflections short story and non-fiction contests will be
announced on Wed., May 2nd, at a reception in the upper library.  All are
invited.

The unofficial term 3 honor roll list has been posted on the window
outside Mrs. Trainor’s desk.  As you know, there are always omissions. 
Please tell Mrs. Trainor or Dr. Weinstein by Wednesday, May 9th if you
have been omitted.

Do you like Jazz, Pop, Broadway and A Cappella Style Music?  This will be
the focus of women's choir for next year.  Please see Ms. Smith in I-6 if
singing in this group interests you.

The Sophomore semi is on Saturday May 5th from 7-10:30 pm in the cafe. 
Tickets will be on sale for $20 in the cafe during all lunch blocks next
week.  Any questions seem Mr. Miller or Mr. Pavlik.

CC Paintballers.  For all students who wish to participate in CC Paintball
on May 5th , please get you permission slips signed and handed in by
Wednesday, May 2nd.  Don’t delay.

Attention Juniors taking the SAT Saturday, May 5th:  There will be two
strategy sessions for the Verbal portion of the SAT "experience" at 6 AM 
Thursday and Friday, May 3rd and 4th.  Practice a range of multiple-choice
questions and write a practice essay that will be scored and commented
upon.  No walk-ins—sign-up in the English Office.  Rise and shine--there
will be juice and doughnuts !

This Thursday, as part of the Ruettgers Lecture Series, Ms. Hull of the
English Department will speak on Frida Kahlo ("Free-da Kah-low"), Mexican
artist and cultural icon, in the Little Theater at 2:30.  Tomorrow's
invitation will be in Spanish, so stay tuned.

Please join CCHS Peer Leadership in our Walk for Peace and Justice.
Our walk will celebrate the life of Abdirauf Abdullahi, a member of the
class of 2006 who was killed last June in a random act of violence.  The
walk will be Sunday May 6 from 1-4.  Meet at the CCHS. There will be a bus
leaving from Boston at 12:30.  Proceeds will go toward an award for a CCHS
senior and to the Abdullahi family.  We hope to see you there so that we
can promote peace and justice within our community.  For more info,

Patrons of Performing Students is a group dedicated to the support of the

School.  If your CCHS student is active in or thinking of joining Dance
Club, Chorus, Orchestra, any of the Dramatic classes or productions
available, please come to see what is in the works for next year and the
many ways you can be part of this busy organization.

parents to bring their creative energy to CCPOPS.  For further

DANCE CLUB MEMBERS PRESENT AND PROSPECTIVE:~~Come to Dance Club Friday,
April 27th, the first of a two part workshop, to learn choreography from
renowned choreographer/teacher/dancer Adrienne Hawkins.~ Adrienne has been
artistic director of Impulse Dance Company for 30 years.~ She is
choreographing a hip hop/modern fusion piece to be performed at CCPOPS
recognition night on May 22nd.~ Workshop will take place in the auditorium
from 2:30 to 4 (or check cafe if auditorium is used for town meeting.) We
look forward to seeing you!~ Please note, the second workshop will be
Friday, May 8th at timeMinute30Hour142:30 in the auditorium.~ 

Scholarship information from Independent Companies is now available
On-Line through the Naviance Program.  Seniors should also check that
program periodically to obtain additional information on new scholarships. 

Come celebrate, remember and honor the life of Adrian Martinez today (rain
or shine) at 7:00 pm at the Emerson Track, Concord, MA.~ Adrian, who would
turn 23 on April 30th, graduated from Concord Carlisle High School in 2002
and Williams College in 2006.~ He was an avid and accomplished runner and
athlete who valued family, friendship and citizenship above all else.~
Friends are invited to participate in '23 Laps for placeCityAdrian' by
walking, running, talking, sharing, and~signing a guest book which will be
sent to the Martinez family.~ If you are unable to come on Monday but
would like to send a message to the Martinez family, please stop by the
Recreation Department desk in the Hunt Gym to and leave your message in
the designated box.

The English department announces its 18th  annual Paula Sirois ( It's
suh-ROY (emphasis on the second syllable) Poetry Contest.  Bring your
entries (2 or 3 poems) to Ms. Cox in the English department office
opposite H-13.  No names on the poems, please - you'll be assigned a
number for the competition.  Submission deadline is Wednesday, May 9.  Any
questions?  Ask your English teacher.
