Good morning folks,

	Here we go again!!

The forecast for Friday night into Saturday morning is not great. The
forecast for Saturday afternoon is better but not completely clear of the
chance for rain. Here's the deal on the decision for indoors or outdoors
for graduation and what it means.

First of all, I want to be outdoors and have no doubt you want to be
outdoors. When we are outdoors everyone can come. There is plenty of space
to spread out, move around, etc. However, there are several things I have
to consider in making the decision. Of course, there is the actual
forecast and the timing of events as presented by the weather experts.
There is also the condition of the field and the bleachers. If the field
is a quagmire, even though the rain may have stopped we would have to be
indoors.

From now until Saturday morning I will be monitoring the weather forecast
for Saturday afternoon. I must make a decision no later than 10am on
Saturday morning because where ever we have the graduation ceremony it
takes a couple hours to set set up chairs, podium, sound system, etc.
Shortly after 10am I will send out a notice over this email listserv to
let you know what we will do.

If we have to go indoors each family will have three tickets for the
gymnasium. What you will find is that if each graduate brings three people
into the gym the gym will be overcrowded. There will not actually be
comfortable seating for everyone, but I've increased the tickets to three
in an effort to get as many as we can to be at the site. Hopefully people
will be understanding and cooperative with each other. Each family also
has two tickets for the auditorium. Again, if each graduate brings two
people to the auditorium it will surpass the actual seating in the
auditorium. I tell you this to let you know that we are not being
arbitrary if we turn people away who do not have tickets.

So...if you pray, pray for sunshine.
