The Second Annual Japan Initiative Art Sale
Dec. 6 --Main Office Corridor - 2:00 - 9:00

Twenty five percent of every dollar realized in today’s sale will be
donated to the Japan Initiative. The Initiative helps defray the costs
associated with hosting student guests from our Japanese sister city
during their annual October visit. In addition to bus transportation,
entrance fees and meals, the Initiative also supports other Japan-related
student activities.

This is the 2nd year that noted Maine artists Marvin Jacobs and Ardys
Arlin have supported the Initiative. Last year's art sale raised nearly
$1,000. ~This year Marvin and Ardys have provided us with many new works
of art including several Concord scenes.

Both Marvin and Ardys paint what is familiar and comforting: landscapes,
seascapes, trees, ships, houses, and barns. Each canvas is done with
meticulous attention to detail: blades of grass, wrinkles in sails and the
wonderful colors of the land, sea and sky.

The paintings and prints in the sale range in price from ten dollars to
several hundred. Whether you are looking for small seasonal gifts or art
for your livingroom wall, there is something to suit your taste and
budget. Happy holidays!
