The final attendance report for Q2 is due to Mrs. Merry in the Main Office
by the end of the day on Thursday, February 7.
Students in Ms. Golding's Ruettgers seminar are reminded that the first
meeting will be Monday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. in room H-14.
All Junior State Members who are going to Winter Congress: There is a
MANDATORY meeting on Wednesday at 6:00 in H-3. It is very important that
everyone is there to get final information about the Washington trip.
Would Charlotte Ehrlich please see Mr. Mahony in I-4.
Is outer space still the "final frontier", or are we more interested in
other things in sci-fi and fantasy now? Come discuss at sci-fi club today
at 2:30 in H-12. Free pizza, all are welcome.
The Reflections writing contests deadline has been moved back to Monday,
March 3rd. The word minimum of 2500 words per piece has not been changed,
but please keep in mind that this is a guideline for length and that we
will not be specifically counting. We hope to see your writing in the Blue
Box on March 3rd!
The Moot Court cases previously scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday of
this week have been cancelled. The first case of the competition will be
heard on Friday at 2:30 in H-4. Come watch McBride and Stephens take on
Meltaus and Paleologos. Please arrive on time. No late arrivals we will be
admitted.
Attention all students who are on a waiting list to get into a second
semester course: If you wish to remain on the waiting list, please see
the guidance secretary, Ms. Tracy, by the close of school on Thursday.
Any student who has not seen Ms. Tracy will be removed from the waiting
list.
Health Week Assembly Presentations are today during B block. After A
block please proceed to the following places by grade. Freshmen will be in
the Lower Gym for a Challenge Day presentation. Sophomores in the
Auditorium will hear from our own CCHS teacher Peter Nichol about his
experience in the Peace Corps and the developing Worlds health care
issues of today. The Junior class will hear presentations on the topic of
cancer prevention. Junior Girls in the Upper Library. Junior Boys are
split by last names; A thru M in the Chorus Room and N thru Z in the
Little Theater. Seniors in the Upper Gym will learn about dorm and
personal safety.
Other Health Week presentations include: A block Badminton in the Upper
Gym, D block Focused Listening Skills for juniors and seniors in the
Little theater and G block Sports Injury Prevention also in the Little
Theater.
Congratulations to the 2008 Battle of the Bands winners Saturday night.
Third place went to Livid
with band members Noah Urton, Brendan Hecht,
Paul Marino and Max Tarolli. In second place, Transience, featuring
Dominic Ryder, Ben Tillotson, Charlie Abbott and Mark Putterman. And the
grand prize winners this year, Uncle B. That's Jeff Jenkins, Cam Bjork,
Brendan Kavanagh, Owen Callahan and special guest Sam Williams.
Congratulations both to the winners and to all the other performers. See
you at next years Battle!
