All School Dance this Friday!!  Come decked out in your most absurdly
preppy attire to the all-school golf & tennis country club dance! Tickets
are being sold during lunch blocks at the double doors Wednesday through
Friday- no tickets will be sold at the door!

Have you attended a Health Week presentation yet?  If not, join us today
for the following presentations: A block in the Upper Gym for wake up Yoga
with Ms. Slocum. Emerson Hospital will offer the “Math of Diabetes” C
block in the Little Theater.  During G & D blocks in the Gym Modular
classroom will be the presentation, “Are you Getting Enough Sleep?” Also G
block “Stress Management and Integrative Therapy” in the Little Theater. H
block in the Little Theater “Sun Safety” presentation. And, during all
lunch blocks the 2008 Health Week Health Fair including interactive table
top presentations on topics including: women’s health issues, sun safety,
nutrition and much more.

The final attendance report for Q2 is due to Mrs. Merry in the Main Office
by the end of the day on TODAY.

Come discuss the Super Tuesday results with the Third Wing today after
school in H4.

Attention World Lit alums: Students interested in the trip to see
Persepolis this Friday need to let Mr. Nurenberg know ASAP.

Students in Ms. Golding's Ruettgers seminar are reminded that the first
meeting will be Monday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. in room H-14.

All Junior State Members who are going to Winter Congress:  There is a
MANDATORY meeting on Wednesday at 6:00 in H-3.  It is very important that
everyone is there to get final information about the Washington trip.  

The Moot Court cases previously scheduled for Thursday of this week have
been canceled. The first case of the competition will be heard on Friday
at 2:30 in H-4. Come watch McBride and Stephens take on Meltaus and
Paleologos. Please arrive on time. No late arrivals we will be admitted.

Attention all students who are on a waiting list to get into a second
semester course:  If you wish to remain on the waiting list, please see
the guidance secretary, Ms. Tracy, by the close of school TODAY.  Any
student who has not seen Ms. Tracy will be removed from the waiting list.

The Concord Police Department will be sponsoring RAD, Rape Aggression
Defense systems, for females. RAD is a realistic self-defense program
teaching risk reduction and avoidance strategies, including hands-on
defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program. This is a four-week
course using simple and easy to learn techniques, providing an effective
and proven method of self-defense. RAD classes will be held Tuesday
evenings 6:30-8:45PM (approximately). The first class, March 4, will be
held at the Concord Police Station and the remaining classes March 11, 18,
25, will be at the Alcott school gymnasium. High School females are
encouraged to participate, for more information contact Detective Scott

A Discussion on Adolescent Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar and Suicide
Prevention~
February 7th~ 7-9pm at the Ripley School Conf Rm 1, 120 Merriam Rd~in
Concord.This event is co-sponsored by Concord SPED PAC and Wayside Youth
and Family Network.~ The panel will include the following experts
on~adolescent~depression and~suicide prevention:~~ Annie Ditiberio from
Families for Depression Awareness; Barbara Whitcomb from See A New Sun
Foundation/ Member of the MA Coalition for Suicide Prevention; Deborah
Garfield, Director of Clinical Services, Eliot Center, Concord; ~Mark
Shelford, from the psychiatric triage services Emerson Hospital Emergency
Department; Moderated by Anne Sullivan of Wayside Youth and Family Support
