DAILY BULLETIN
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2008

Detention will begin on Monday, Sept. 15 and will typically be held on
Mondays and Wednesdays in S15 starting at 2:15pm. Seniors needing to make
up detentions should be present on Monday, as well others who are assigned.

Seniors who have not purchase a parking permit, please see Mrs. Trainor as
soon as possible.

Amnesty International will meet in H-4 at 5:15pm on Tuesday, Sept., 16th
to discuss various international human rights violations.  All are welcome!

Attention all Freshmen!  If you are interested in representing your class
as a class officer or student senator, please come to an informational
meeting directly after school on Tuesday, September 15 in S-12.  Any
questions see Elise Goodhue.

Authors and artists, Reflections, the art and literature magazine
published by CCHS students is welcoming new members who would be
interested in helping to layout and publish student works. Come this
Wednesday at 2:15 in the Art room to snack while discussing the
possibilities for this year's magazines. Contact Mr. Pickman with any
questions!

The CCHS Sailing Club is meeting on Monday in room S-11. We go sailing
twice a week, so if you want to sail or want to learn how to sail come to
room S-11 Monday after school.

One School One Book will have an after school AND evening meeting next
THURSDAY. Please come and join us to discuss the memoir. Don't be shy,
even if you haven't read the book we'd love to have you there. Everyone is
welcome!

There are a few student planners left. If you would like to puchase one,
please contact Lisa Harris. Her phone number is 978-371-2494.

The Environmental Club invites you to it's introductory meeting today.  If
you are one who wants to protect and improve the environment here at CCHS,
in the community, or even nationally, join us at 2:15 in S-28.  Every
topic from recycling to global warming is on the agenda for action this
year.~

Any student who is on a waiting list for a first semester course and who
is still interested in that course must see Ms. Tracy in the guidance
office by the end of the week or your name will be removed from the list.

Come audition for the fall play The Grapes of Wrath next Monday and
Tuesday in the Chorus Room. The time is the Great Depression.  The Joad
family embarks on an odyssey across the US in their beat up truck in
search of work and a new home in California.  There are over 30 acting
roles of colorful, unforgettable characters.  Live music will be performed
throughout the show.   First time actors are encouraged to audition.

Feeling inspired, creative, artistic? Want to learn new skills to wow your
friends and family? Then come to the first meeting of the Art Club on
Monday. No experience necessary. The Art Club meets every Monday after
school in room A-2. All are welcome, especially you!

The CCHS Ultimate Frisbee boys and girls teams will be having practices on
Sunday afternoons 2:30 to 4:30 at the lower fields, beginning this
weekend.~ Any new or returning players are welcome to come to the lower
fields to join us.

The first Spectrum meeting will be next week at 2:20 in room H-4. 
Spectrum is the high school’s gay/straight alliance.  Come plan the years
events and eat yummy food.  See you next week. 

Attention all students interested in the April 2009 trip to Japan: there
is a required meeting for you AND your parents or guardians this Tuesday
at 7:00pm in the Little Theater.  It is absolutely mandatory to attend
this sesson if you want to go on the trip.  That's Tuesday, 7:00pm, in the
Little Theater.  Any questions, please see Mr. Nurenberg. 

Are you the next Spielberg or Lucas? Have you always felt you could do a
better job making a TV show or movie? Ever thought about being a TV news
reporter or making a documentary? If so, Patriot Productions is for you! 
Anyone interested in any aspect of TV, Film, or Video should see Mr. Sapp
in the English Department for more information.

Class 2012 Parent Meeting on September 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the CCHS
auditorium. Presentations will be made by Mr. Badalament, Principal along
with Mr. Simone and Ms. Brown from the counseling office.

Care Package Drive for the TroopsHoly Family Parish in Concord is
sponsoring a Care Package Drive for US Troops on Saturday September 13th
from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Crosby’s Marketplace on Sudbury Road in
Concord.~Shoppers are asked to pick up food and personal care items while
they shop. ~A list of items requested by our soldiers and marines will be
available at Crosby’s Marketplace on the days of the drive. ~Donations
will be collected as you exit the store. ~Holy Family Parish of Concord
will deliver the items to Hanscom AFB for their September Care Package
Event. ~Your generous donations will be sent to our deployed service

The Concord Police Department will be sponsoring RAD for adult females.
RAD is Rape Aggression Defense Systems, which is a realistic self-defense
program teaching risk reduction and avoidance strategies, including
hands-on defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program. This is a
four-week course using simple and easy to learn techniques, providing an
effective and proven method of self-defense for females. High School
females are encouraged to participate. RAD classes will be held Tuesday
evenings on October 7, 14, 21, 28, from Class 6:30PM to approximately
8:45PM. The classes will be held at the Alcott School gymnasium. Class
