Dear Parents,

You may have heard that Adult and Community Education has recently
discontinued drivers’ education here at Concord-Carlisle High School. I am
writing to let the school community know that this was not done to
inconvenience parents or students, but instead as a response to the
growing liability associated with our connection to an outside driving
school. To be clear, there have not been any problems to date, but we
reevaluated our relationship with outside vendors and determined that it
is not in our best interest to continue to provide this service.

We are currently looking into alternatives that satisfy our liability/risk
management requirements and may have one in the future. For the time
being, the Registry of Motor Vehicles’ website, [
http://www.mass.gov/rmv/driversed/selectschool.htm
]http://www.mass.gov/rmv/driversed/selectschool.htm, has information on
drivers’ education programs in and around our community.

If you have any questions about the decision to discontinue drivers’
education please contact Kathy Codianne, the Director of Teaching and
Learning, at [ mailto:kcodianne at colonial.net ]kcodianne at colonial.net, or
978-341-2490, ext.8131.

Sincerely,
Peter Badalament
Principal
