Attendance reports are due to Mrs. Merry, in the main office, by the end
of the day Wednesday, Jan. 14th.
Come to Sci-Fi Club at 2:30 in H-12 to eat free pizza, watch Doctor
Horrible, and make our usual plans to conquer the universe. All are
welcome.
To all students going on the Japan trip this April - you are encouraged to
attend Mr. Nurenberg's Ruettgers presentation on Buddhism this Thursday at
2:30 in the Little Theater. Remember that attending at least two pre-trip
events is a requirement for going.
All juniors and seniors interested in taking the Advanced Placement
English Literature exam in May should attend a short informational meeting
tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14, in H14 from 2:10 to 2:30 directly after
school. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Woodnal in the English
department.
Attention all National Honor Society members: There will be a brief but
mandatory meeting on TODAY at 2:15 in the little theater. Please see Sam
Dweck or Doc Furey with any questions.
Yoga Club will meet Thursday as usual from 2:30-3:30 in the Gym Modular.
Michele Laura, a professional yoga teacher, will be leading the group in
Ms. Slocum's absence. All are welcome. Namaste!
Attention Staff and Students, Please come to hear David Nurenberg speak
about Burning corpses, Yaks, and Rebel attacks: Potholes on the Road to
Enlightenment. A detailed travelogue of Mr. Nurenberg's Buddhist journey
through 5 Asian nations. This Thursday, January 15, at 2:30 in the Little
Theater.
Do you enjoy cooking and consuming fine food? If so come to the
informational meeting for the Multi-Cultural Food Club on Wednesday at
2:30 in S-14. We will be taking about our first cooking meeting where we
will be making classic American cuisine. If you have any questions talk to
Giles Pettingell, Jay Stephens, or Ms. Lucier.
Did you get a new cell phone, ipod, or digital camera for Christmas or
Hannukah? Please consider bringing your old one to the box in Mrs.
Hammer's main office so we can recycle it. We'll have that box, and the
box at the Concord Public Library, until the end of the month. Do your
bit to save the planet!
DONATIONS NEEDED! We are collecting gently used clothing for 3 Honduran
children currently being treated at Shriners Hospital in Boston; 13 year
old boy (size 14-16) 6 year old girl (size 5/6) 14 month old boy
(18-24mos). Items may be dropped off at 27 Captain Miles Lane or
emily_collins2001 at yahoo.com to arrange a pick up. Tax receipts available
upon request.
TEEN DRIVING SAFETY:
Did you know that in 2007 3,174 15-to 20-yearold drivers were killed and
an additional 252,000 were injured in motor vehicle crashes? Would you
like to know how to prevent these crashes, and how to help your teen
become a safe driver? Concord Carlisle Parent Initiative (CCPI) is
organizing a workshop on teen driving safety for parents and teens. It
will be run as a panel discussion with representatives from AAA, Concord
Police, a Concord Insurance Agency, In Control Advanced Driver Program
(Skid School), and the new CCHS driving program. In addition to
information and tips on how to train your new driver you will be able to
learn about the new CCHS Driving Program that is modeled after the Acton
Boxborough Driving School. Wednesday Jan.14, 7 - 9pm, Alcott School,
Concord, 93 Laurel Street.
