DAILY BULLETIN
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2009

Homeroom will be held, tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3rd 7:25am for the
distribution of attendance reports and 2nd semester schedules.  
Christian club will next meet on Monday at 2:30 in H-2.  Everyone is
welcome.

The cafe will be closed at 2:15 on Monday, February 2 for Summer
Opportunity Fair set-up.

The health office will be conducting Senior Wellness screenings today 7:30
- 1:00.

Please come to a fascinating Ruettgers Lecture delivered by our amazing
librarian. On Thursday, February 5, at 2:30, in the Little Theatre, Ms.
Cicchetti will be speaking about her scholarly adventures in Japan,
especially as an ambassador to our sister city, Nanae. See you there!

There will be a yearbook meeting today after school in Room S-8; all are
invited to attend to contribute to the yearbook.

Attention Freshmen:
Your "course selection meeting", with Mrs. Brown, Mrs. DiCesare, Ms.
Haskins and Ms. Reidy, that was scheduled for Monday, February 2nd has now
been moved to Monday, March 2nd.  Please go to the upper library for this
meeting during the block that was assigned to you.  If you have any
questions, please see your guidance counselor.

In preparation for the upcoming CCHS musical "Miss Saigon", this
Wednesday, February 4, from 2:30-3:30 pm in the auditorium will be a talk
by Dick Krug and Dom Ingegneri of the US Marine Corps.  They will provide
background on what it was like to be in Vietnam during this time so our
actors have some "real life" understanding and context for their stage
portrayals.   All students, faculty, and staff are also invited to sit in
on the discussion this Wednesday, January 28th, from 2:30-3:30 pm in the
auditorium.

Come help us celebrate the 28th anniversary of the Summer Opportunities
Fair!~ Whether you are looking for a camp, enrichment opportunities, or an
adventure this summer, the Summer Opportunities Fair has something for
you. The fair will be held TODAY from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in the CCHS
cafeteria.~ In case of snow, the Fair will be held on the following
evening, Tuesday, February 3rd, from 5:30 – 8:30.~ Admission is free.

Caroline Hill Scholarship Applications for the Caroline Hill Scholarship
awards are available to Carlisle's current high school seniors for
continuing post-secondary education including colleges, universities, and
vocational schools. These need-based awards typically range from $500 to
$2,000. The awards are made in late spring.  You may download the
application from the Board of Selectmen page at www.carlislema.gov.   
Hard copies of the applications will be available in the CCHS registrar's
office, the Gleason Public Library, or the Selectmen's office in the
Carlisle Town Hall. Contact Diane Powers, 978-369-9191 with any questions. 
Carlisle Sophomore Alex Steinroder has been lauded by the US Tennis
Association New England for his sportsmanship. Steinroder, it was
announced this week, has been selected as USTA New England’s winner of the
2008 Boys’ 16 and Under Sportsmanship Award, presented to a player who
exemplified sportsmanship qualities on and off the court in 2008.
Steinroder will be honored at USTA New England’s annual award ceremony,
which takes place Saturday, March 28 in Marlboro.
