DAILY BULLETIN
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2009

There will be a yearbook meeting TODAY after school in room S-8; all are
invited to attend to contribute to the yearbook. 

The Sports Forum will hold its next meeting Tuesday February 10, at 2:30
in room S-14. Come to offer your opinions on the Super Bowl, College
Basketball, and anything else. Free Pizza will be provided.

The American Mathematics Competition will be given tomorrow during E and F
blocks.  Students who have signed up should report to their assigned rooms
at the beginning of E block.  You will get more information in your math
class today.  See Ms. Patton with any questions.
There will be a Paintball Club meeting Wednesday, February 11 2:15 in A8. 
All interested students welcome.

There will be a reception for the students and teachers coming from France
as part of our French exchange on Monday, February 9th.  The reception
will begin at2:15 in the upper library.  Please come and welcome our
guests to CCHS!

Students that are planning on participating in Spring Sports must have a
current physical.   Please stop by the health office to check the status
of their physical exams.  

REMINDER TO ALL SOPHOMORES:  All sophomores should be meeting with their
guidance counselors this week in the UPPER LIBRARY to discuss choosing
courses for next year.  Please be on time for these meetings and bring
your program of studies & course selection sheet with you.

Start the vacation off with your friends and fellow artists at the
Coffeehouse's open mic night on Friday February 13th at 7:30 at the
Emerson Umbrella. Come perform, watch your friends and have a great time!
You can sign up to perform in the cafe, tickets are 3 dollars.

It is carnation time!  Send your sweetheart, best friend or favorite
teacher a carnation.  It is almost Valentines Day and carnations will be
on sale during all lunch blocks starting on Monday and will be delivered
next Friday the 13th.  PLEASE know your friends full schedule so that we
can send the carnation to the correct class.

The Mr. CCHS Competition is back!!!  If you are full of school spirit and
think you have what it takes to hold the coveted title of Mr. CCHS, make
sure you sign up next week. Boys of all grades are welcome!  The
competition is on the evening of March 13th.  Sign up sheets can be found
in the main office or outside S-12 starting TODAY.

Students who are on a wait list to change courses and want to remain on
the list must see Ms. Tracy in Guidance by the close of school on Friday
Feb 6th.  Students who do not verify that they want to remain on the wait
list will have their name removed their space will be given to the next
available student on Monday Feb 9th.

For those interested in taking the AP English Literature exam in May,
there will be a prep session next Wednesday, February 11, at 2:30 in room
H-11.  You must RSVP with Mr. Woodnal in the English office if you plan to
attend!

Sophomores:
RYLA Conference applications have arrived.  Students may pick up an
application and information from Mrs. Coleman in the main office.

You and your parents/guardians are invited to a program that will be held
this Tues. evening, Feb. 10, from 7:30-9PM,  in the CCHS cafeteria
entitled, “The Gap Year: Advantages and Opportunities with Taking Time off
Before College." Robert Gilpin, founder of "Time Out Associates," and a
worldwide figure and author in time off counseling, will be presenting the
many options and opportunities that you can pursue if you are thinking
about taking some time off before heading to college.
Seniors –Come find out now. You still have time to make that choice!
Juniors – Get a heads-up before the hectic season of applying to college
is upon you!
Sophomores and Freshmen – It’s not too early to hear about alternatives so
you can be better prepared for the future! 
There is no registration or admission fee. Just show up - Bring your
parents, siblings and friends!  We hope to see you there. This program is
offered by the CCHS Parents Association in collaboration with the Center
for Parents and Teachers.  It is open to the community. Please email

Caroline Hill Scholarship Applications for the Caroline Hill Scholarship
awards are available to Carlisle's current high school seniors for
continuing post-secondary education including colleges, universities, and
vocational schools. These need-based awards typically range from $500 to
$2,000. The awards are made in late spring.  You may download the
application from the Board of Selectmen page at [
http://www.carlislema.gov ]www.carlislema.gov.    Hard copies of the
applications will be available in the CCHS registrar's office, the Gleason
Public Library, or the Selectmen's office in the Carlisle Town Hall.
