Join us at French club at 2:30 in L5 this TODAY to watch the recently
released movie "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis". It is very popular in France
right now so if you are looking to impress the French exchange students,
this is the place to be. Of course, there will also be baguette and
Nutella! See you there!
Interested trying for Softball? All girls interested in trying out for
softball should come the informational meeting in S-9 TODAY at 2:15.
Valentine Trivia Contest -- Come into the library Friday during D, E, and
F lunch blocks to join in the Valentine
Trivia Contest. Bring your friends and have some fun.
Shocked? After an impressive showing at our first meeting, the CCHS Magic
Card Club is off and running. Please come join us in the cafe after school
today and see what the buzz is about. Newcomers and those new to the game
are especially welcome.
It is carnation time! Send your sweetheart, best friend or favorite
teacher a carnation. It is almost Valentines Day and carnations will be
on sale during all lunch blocks starting on Monday and will be delivered
Friday the 13th. PLEASE know your friends full schedule so that we can
send the carnation to the correct class.
REMINDER TO ALL SOPHOMORES: All sophomores should be meeting with their
guidance counselors this week in the UPPER LIBRARY to discuss choosing
courses for next year. Please be on time for these meetings and bring
your program of studies & course selection sheet with you.
AP sign-ups will take place from Feb. 23rd - March 6th, in the main office
with Mrs. Trainor from 8am-2pm.
Tests are $86 each, make check payable to "CCHS". You need your check
when you sign up, you can not sign up without a check.
The Student Senate now has a suggestion box! If you have an idea about an
issue that the Senate should discuss, please submit your suggestion to the
box at the front of the CCHS library. All suggestions are welcome!
WEEDS, CCHS's organic gardening club, will be holding a bake sale this
afternoon and Friday afternoon by the double doors when school lets out.
Come buy some treats to support our club!
Reflections Magazine is having its annual Short Story and Non-fiction
contest. Generous cash prizes will be awarded to the top five writers in
each contest. We encourage any aspiring author from any grade to submit
their Short Story or Non-fiction writing to Mr. Pickman, Miranda Morrison,
or the Blue Box in the Art Room. The deadline is February 23rd, the day
after vacation. Good luck and start writing!
Students that are planning on participating in Spring Sports must have a
current physical. Please stop by the health office to check the status
of their physical exams.
Start the vacation off with your friends and fellow artists at the
Coffeehouse's open mic night on Friday February 13th at 7:30 at the
Emerson Umbrella. Come perform, watch your friends and have a great time!
You can sign up to perform in the cafe, tickets are 3 dollars.
Sophomores:
RYLA Conference applications have arrived. Students may pick up an
application and information from Mrs. Coleman in the main office.
Caroline Hill Scholarship Applications for the Caroline Hill Scholarship
awards are available to Carlisle's current high school seniors for
continuing post-secondary education including colleges, universities, and
vocational schools. These need-based awards typically range from $500 to
$2,000. The awards are made in late spring. You may download the
application from the Board of Selectmen page at www.carlislema.gov.
Hard copies of the applications will be available in the CCHS registrar's
office, the Gleason Public Library, or the Selectmen's office in the
