DAILY BULLETIN
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2009

ATTENTION JUNIORS:  If you have a Course Selection meeting with your
guidance counselor TODAY E block, PLEASE GO TO THE LIBRARY AS SCHEDULED -
your guidance counselor will unlock the door. 

The Library will be CLOSED TODAY, during E block for junior guidance
counselor meetings. Students will have to remain in study or in the
cafeteria.

Reminder:  All juniors should be meeting with his/her guidance counselor,
in the upper library, this week to choose course selections for the
upcoming school year.  Please bring your program of studies and course
selection sheet with you to this meeting and PLEASE be on time.

Ever feel that you've got to catch 'em all?  Come to sci-fi club at 2:30
in H-12 today to discuss Pokemon, Digimon, and all other varieties of
"mon." Free pizza-mon, all are welcome.

The 15th Annual Denis Cleary Moot Court Competition begins today, at 2:30
in room H-5.  The case will also be heard on Friday at 2:30 also in room
H-5.  Let the games begin.

WEEDS, the CCHS organic gardening and sustainability club, will be meeting
today at 2:15 in A-1. We will be finishing up the movie "King Corn" and
making a wish list for this spring. All are welcome!!

Tickets for the Black and White Dance are on sale this week in the cafe
during all lunch blocks for $15.  The dance is on March 21 but tickets
will only be available this week.

Should students be allowed to choose which school they attend? What do you
think? Come to JSA Wednesday from 6-7pm to discuss School Choice. All are
welcome!

 A representative from Middlesex Community College will be visiting CCHS
on Thursday, February 26th from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. outside the
Guidance-Counseling Dept.  Any student interested in Middlesex Community
College should stop by to speak with the representative or pick up
material.

AP sign-ups will take place from TODAY through March 6th, in the main
office with Mrs. Trainor from 8am-2pm.
Tests are $86 each, make check payable to "CCHS".  You need your check
when you sign up, you can not sign up without a check.

EVERYONE INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT FOR BOYS AND GIRLS SPRING TRACK, THERE
IS A MANDATORY MEETING TODAY AT 2:30 IN THE LITTLE THEATER. QUESTIONS, SEE
MR. LANE OR MS MCCABE

ATTENTION INDOOR TRACK TEAM, YOUR POST-SEASON MEETING IS THURSDAY AT 2:30
IN THE LOWER GYM. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. QUESTIONS, SEE MR. LANE

Students that are planning on participating in Spring Sports must have a
current physical.   Please stop by the health office to check the status
of their physical exams.

Ushers are needed for Ms Saigon.  Performances are on Feb 27th and 28th
and March 6th and 7th at 7:30pm and March 1st and 8th at 1:30pm.  Student
ushers will have free admission to the performance and receive community
service.  Please pick up an information sheet from the bulletin board
across from the chorus room or email Nancy Birchard at

AM TO 1 PM, LUNCH BLOCKS, CAFETERIA! Please be sure to visit and check out
wonderful community service opportunities this SPRING and throughout the
year.
President's Volunteer Service Awards Application extended to March 15th

ALL CCHS STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE. A student may apply; a teacher may
nominate a student.~This award is given to students who have demonstrated
outstanding volunteer service for at least 100 hours of community service
over the course of ANY 12-month period during your high school career.

Download the application, Fill out with complete details; drop off at
2volunteer mailbox in Main Office.

The Concord Police Department will be sponsoring RAD for females. RAD is
Rape Aggression Defense Systems, which is a realistic self-defense program
teaching risk reduction and avoidance strategies, including hands-on
defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program. This is a four night
course using simple and easy to learn techniques, providing an effective
and proven method of self-defense for females. High School females are
encouraged to participate. RAD classes will be held Wednesday evenings on
March 11, 18, 25, and April 1, from Class 6:30PM to approximately 8:45PM.
The first class will be held at the Concord Police Department. The
remaining classes will be held at the Alcott School gymnasium. Class size
is limited, to register or for more information contact Detective Scott
