Course Selection Sheets are due in homeroom today. Please pass in on time
to guarantee your class selection.
Any student who took ceramics last semester and wishes to pick up finished
work must do so by Today. Please see Mr. Lindner ASAP.
Matchmakers will be handed out in homerooms TODAY.
Want to visit the Big Apple?? Have you always wanted to see it from the
top deck of the Empire State Building? Well, this is your chance. Come
with us to New York City on Friday, April 10th along with the Ecuadorian
students and their CCHS hosts. We will be leaving Concord at 6 am and
returning by 11 pm. The cost of $110 per person includes: deluxe motor
coach roundtrip transportation, entrance fee to the Empire State Building,
a panoramic view of the city, and a 2-hour cruise around Manhattan, the
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, dinner at Planet Hollywood Restaurant
in Times Square. We will be visiting the ESPN Zone in Times Square as
well. We hope that you will join us. Its first come, first serve! So,
bring us your check made out to CCHS and give to Mr. Pohl or Mrs. DesLoges
ASAP. There are only 9 seats left on the bus!! Don't be left out!
With the coming of Spring (someday soon) come sports that utilize balls
that can break windows. Four large windows in the café have already been
broken. Do not under any circumstances throw baseballs or lacrosse balls
anywhere near school windows. You will be held responsible.
There will be a yearbook meeting on Monday after school in room S-8; all
are invited to attend to contribute to the yearbook.
Our Health Week program concludes today with several exciting
opportunities to learn something new. All activities will take place in
the Little Theater. First in C block there will be an important talk
about suicide prevention given by Mrs. Whitcomb from the See a New Sun
Foundation. Next in G and D blocks there will be a demonstration of how
biofeedback therapy can help you with control, attention and concentration
conducted by Dr. Leslie Sternberg. During E block, our own Johanna Glazer
will share with you how to stay safe through self-awareness and
self-defense. In F block Nancy Slocum will present an encore of her
workshop entitled Why Does Exercise make you Feel Good? Finally, in H
block, world-renowned Dr. Nicholas Christakis will make a fascinating
presentation about how network science and mathematical models can be used
to understand the dynamics of online social networks. Have a healthy day!

This week in Film Club we will be watching Christopher Nolan's masterpiece
"The Prestige". Popcorn will be served.
TODAY is the last day for AP sign-ups it will take place in the main
office with Mrs. Trainor from 8am-2pm.
Tests are $86 each, make check payable to "CCHS". You need your check
when you sign up, you can not sign up without a check.
Attention BookPALS participants, there will be an important meeting next
Wednesday, March 11, in Room H-11 at 2:30. Please let Mr. Woodnal know if

Seniors - CCPops Scholarship Application is available in the March
Newsletter or you may see Mrs. Trainor for a form.
This weekend is your last chance to see "Miss Saigon" with over 100 of
your classmates on stage, in the pit, and backstage tech. "Miss Saigon"
is the multi-Tony award winning tragic love story that chronicles the
final weeks of US involvement in Vietnam and the aftermath. This show
features a real helicopter hovering the stage and we've secured a real
vintage Huey for our production that actually saw service in Vietnam!
Show dates are: TODAY and Saturday, March 6-7 at 7:30 pm and Sunday,
March 8 at 1:30 pm. Tickets are available Friday, F block lunch, on-line
from ticketstage.com and at the door. Come see "Miss Saigon"!
Come to Amnesty International this coming Tuesday at 5pm in H-5 to watch
the rest of musician Michael Franti's documentary, "I Know I'm Not Alone,"
on war-torn Middle East. Everyone is welcome, and if you didn't see the
first half, we'll do the best to catch you up!
The CCHS student newspaper The Voice will be having a meeting to assign
articles for the March issue on Tuesday, March 10th at 2:15 in H-15. All
interested writers and photographers are welcome! No experience needed.
Ushers are needed for Ms Saigon. Performances are on March 6th and 7th at
7:30pm and March 1st and 8th at 1:30pm. Student ushers will have free
admission to the performance and receive community service. Please pick
up an information sheet from the bulletin board across from the chorus
room or email Nancy Birchard at cchsushers at yahoo.com.
President's Volunteer Service Awards Application extended to March 15th
ALL CCHS STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE. A student may apply; a teacher may
nominate a student.~This award is given to students who have demonstrated
outstanding volunteer service for at least 100 hours of community service
over the course of ANY 12-month period during your high school career.

Download the application, Fill out with complete details; drop off at
2volunteer mailbox in Main Office.
The Concord Police Department will be sponsoring RAD for females. RAD is
Rape Aggression Defense Systems, which is a realistic self-defense program
teaching risk reduction and avoidance strategies, including hands-on
defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program. This is a four night
course using simple and easy to learn techniques, providing an effective
and proven method of self-defense for females. High School females are
encouraged to participate. RAD classes will be held Wednesday evenings on
March 11, 18, 25, and April 1, from Class 6:30PM to approximately 8:45PM.
The first class will be held at the Concord Police Department. The
remaining classes will be held at the Alcott School gymnasium. Class size
