DAILY BULLETIN
MONDAY, APRIL 6, 2009

Any students who missed any part of MCAS please report to the Main Office
at 7:30 on Tuesday, April 7 to begin make up tests. Also those who missed
the ELA Long Composition must come Tuesday to do makeup essay.

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS - TRANSCRIPT MONEY IS DUE NOW.  YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE
YOUR CAP & GOWN UNLESS THIS IS PAID IN FULL.  PLEASE INFORM MRS. TESSARI
OF YOUR FINAL DECISION OR OF ANY OTHER PLANS THAT YOU MAY HAVE FOR THE
YEAR FOLLOWING GRADUATION.

There will be a Virtual High School meeting on Tuesday, April 7th during
all lunch blocks in the Guidance department.  All students interested in
Virtual High School should come to one of the lunch block meetings.

There will be a yearbook meeting TODAY after school in room S-8; all are
invited to attend to contribute to the yearbook. 

A reminder to Juniors – The form for Off-campus privileges during lunch
blocks are available in the Main Office.

A representative from Herff-Jones will be in the cafe during lunch blocks
on Tues. April 7th and Thurs. April 9th to collect orders for Class Rings,
answer questions and to give out order forms if needed.  Please stop by
and get Class Ring information.

Senior Community Service Award Certificates.  Absolute Deadline is April
15th.  NO EXCEPTIONS
Seniors who have 100 or more hours of community service must have their
forms in to Mrs. Hammer NO LATER THAN APRIL 15th.  

POETS!!
It’s time to get your work ready to submit to the 2009 Paula Sirois Poetry
Contest.  Each year the English Department holds a competition in memory
of Ms. Paula Sirois, an English teacher at the high school who was a
published poet as well as the longtime advisor to Reflections. Entries
should consist of two or three poems, and should be submitted to Mrs. Cox
in the English Department office by April 8.  The poet’s name should not
appear on the work; a number will be assigned each contestant’s poem upon
submission. Contest open to all: enter your work!
Come join Commonwealth Ballet for their 23rd Annual "A Little Night
Dancing" performance on April 11th at 7:30 PM. There will be many talented
and spirited performances so come and enjoy the show. Tickets will be sold
at the door for $10 if you are a student and $12 for adults. The
performance takes place at the R.J. Grey Junior High School in Acton, MA. 
The League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle announces its Spring House
Tour to be held on Wednesday, April 15, “Room for Us: Adapting Spaces to
Your Needs.” ~The day begins at 9:00 a.m. with registration and
continental breakfast at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 54 Walden
St., Concord. Holly Cratsley, AIA, Principal of Nashawtuc Architects,
Inc., gives an introductory talk at 9:30 a.m. Tour of homes starts at
10:30 a.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 by advance registration

Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee (PCCC) are looking for 12
students to march in the 2009 Patriots Day Parade. These students would be
paired in two's and be banner holders in the parade. The parade is 2.5
miles long and we would need them to report to the Concord Armory by 8:30
AM. Proper attire would be required coat, tie and white shirt~for Boys and
skirt or slacks and white blouse for girls. The parade would get over
sometime around 1PM. Lunch will be provided for them at the Hunt Gym~after
the parade is over.~Community service hours would be available for this
service. Please post notice and we should have their names before April
15th.

HELP FIGHT CANCER
Do you know anyone fighting Cancer, anyone who is a cancer survivor, or
anyone who is a special person who has died from cancer?  Help us support
Cancer research by donating money or a thoughtful letter describing that
special person who has had to fight cancer.  For every letter written and
passed in, a dollar will be donated toward the Pancreatic Cancer Research
Fund at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.  Letters and donations will be
collected every lunch block or in the main office anytime of the day. 
Make a difference in the fight against Cancer! This fundraising effort is
made by the students in Mr. Hehn's Insights and Understanding and
Challenge classes.  They have read "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pauch, and
wanted to act on his inspiration.  

Concord Trails Logo Design Contest 
How would you like to see your art all over town?  Design a logo for the
Concord trail entrance markers to be placed on town conservation land
throughout Concord. 1st Prize is $100 Gift of Concord Gift Certificate
(and logo selection) 2nd Prize: $50 Gift of Concord Gift Certificate,
3rdPrize: Concordopoly game.  The contest is open to ALL AGES!  Logo
designs should fit on a 4” round white disk. Use only one color.  The
design must include the words, “Concord Trails”.  Submit entries by May
15th by email (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or PDF format; 2MB max) to
