The Be the Change team is organizing a hike on Mt. Monadnock on Sunday,
May 17. Permission slips are available on the window of S-12 and must be
returned to the Main Office by Wednesday, May 13th. Please see Mr. Miller
with any questions.
Should condoms be distributed in schools? Should schools provide birth
control to students? Come to JSA Wednesday from 6-7pm in H-3 to discuss.
All are welcome!
Which book will it be? Choose the title for One School One Book. Thursday,
May 14, 6-7pm in the Library.
Three Cups of Tea or A Whole New Mind? Nominations accepted from the
floor. The choice is yours.
Attention all Trekkers: Sci-fi Club will be engaging warp drive on a trip
to see the premiere of the new Star Trek movie this Thursday night. Get
your permission slips from Mr. Nurenberg, or at Wednesday's meeting at
2:30 in H-12, where we'll be discussing animals in sci-fi and fantasy.
Free pizza, all are welcome.
Need Spring cleaning? Yard work? ~Hauling? Mowing? ~Here is your chance
there is Baseball Team work day on May 16th. ~$12/hour per player and all
proceeds go to the CCHS Baseball program. ~Scheduling morning shifts from
9-12 noon and 1-4 pm, 2 players per shift. ~Call Kate McCandless to sign

Earn two hours of Community Service being a race course monitor for the
Thoreau Elementary School road race. The race will take place on May 17.
Volunteers need to arrive at the Thoreau School at 11:30. Sign up with Ms
Tracy in the guidance office and see Ms Hibben should you have any
questions.
It's time, once again, for the Faculty Follies. Every three years, the
faculty puts on a comedy show that has to be seen to be believed. And
yes, there will be another video from Mr. Rivera and Hoblitzelle. The
show will be one night only: Saturday, May 9th at 7:30 in the auditorium.
Tickets cost $15, and will be on sale lunch blocks in the cafeteria
starting Monday. There will be lots of competition for these tickets --
it's very popular among both parents and students. So make sure to get
your tickets early while they last. Also for sale will be packs of all
new faculty trading cards. Start on your collection today!
Volunteers are still needed to help at the Drop-Off & Swap Off Recycling
Day, on Saturday, May 9. Students can earn from 2 to 10 hours of community
service credit. To volunteer or for more information, visit REUSIT online

Volunteer hours at The Concord Art Association- 37 Lexington Road On
Saturday May 30th they need 7 to 10 kids for 3 volunteer hours to clean
out basement The CCHS Art Show will be up at the Art Association for kids

Attention all former students of Alcott Third Grade Teacher, Debbie
Grossman! After 27 years of working in the Concord School system (along
with~8 years prior to that), Mrs. Grossman is retiring and we are trying
to put together a scrapbook~from~all her former students. If you would
like to~write a note~to wish~Mrs. Grossman~good luck, good-bye, send a
picture, write a poem, etc. you can put it on any color size 8 1/2 x 11

YOUTH SPORTS EQUIPMENT SALE AT THOREAU SCHOOL
Thoreau School PTG is holding a youth sports recycle sale on Sunday, May
17 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thoreau (in conjunction with the Thoreau
Road Race). Please donate your good-quality used baseball, lacrosse,
soccer, golf, football, basketball, tennis, hockey, skiing (shaped skis
only please), snowboarding and other youth sport equipment, as well as
jogging strollers (not regular baby strollers), bikes, scooters, roller
blades, ice skates, skateboards, helmets and skim boards. ~Please, no
out-of-date or poor condition items and NO team jerseys, hats or other
clothing (besides cleats, pads, shin guards, etc.these are OK) and no
boogie boards or pool noodles! ~~
The Rotary Club of Concord is helping out with a drive for children in
Iraq that are in need of school supplies like pencils, paper, binders,
etc. A box is located in the main office, and we would appreciate any help.
