Live your beliefs and you can turn the world around~~ Henry David
Thoreau.
Every day, our daughters are inundated with media images of celebrities
and models, people they begin to emulate at a young age.~~ These images
evolve into ideals and unrealistic expectations of who they are supposed
to be.~ This program explores the idea of wellness as a holistic concept,
and as a way to believe in yourself.~ Its not about being as skinny as a
supermodel.~ Its about being the best you can be - confident~in~yourself
and happy with whom you are.~ Its about finding the right exercise that
suits your personality, eating nurturing food and discovering ways to grow
artistically and spiritually.~ Its about realizing that reaching out to
others is in itself a way to nourish ourselves and find self expression.
Our five day program includes yoga, expressive dance (modern, African and
salsa), pilates, cooking/creative culinary, fashion sense and body image,
journaling, community service and lots of teen talk. Join Susanne
Liebich, Program Director, dancer and Pilates instructor, Deborah Ricci of
Teresinas in Maynard,~ Ruth Herman of Concord Writers Circle, Debra Stark
of Debras Natural Gourmet and Susan Ticknor of the Emerson Umbrella for
this fun and innovative summer wellness program.
