Todays schedule will begin with A1 & will have 8 blocks. After A block,
its a Friday schedule.
SeniorsOn Tuesday, we will begin to issue parking permits during lunch
blocks. Please bring license, registration & check for $300. Yes, the
price has increased.
What: Ultimate Frisbee practice? Date: Sunday, Sept 6th and then every
Sunday until December
When: 2:30 pm Where: Lower fields Why? If you have to ask, you'd best
check it out.
There are still several openings in courses offered through Virtual High
School. Interested students should see Mr. McGrath in the Guidance Office
today and Tuesday.
The Class of 2010 will be selling Student Planners during all the lunch
blocks today until they sell out. Each planner costs $10. Cash and checks
will be accepted. Checks should be made out to CCHS Class of 2010 for $10.
Attention all students! EVERYONE is invited to come to the first yearbook
meeting of the year! Come to offer suggestions for this year's book, as
well as to get involved in the creation of the yearbook. Photographers
and writers are especially welcome, but no prior experience is necessary.
We will be meeting this Tuesday in room S-8. Plenty of snacks will be
provided!
CCHS late buses have started. The cost is $1 per ride or $50 for the
school year. The buses leave at 5:00 from the high school driveway,
please see Mrs. Trainor in the Main Office. Metco students, please see
Ms. Burgos in the Metco Office.
The Office of Niki Tsongas is looking for high school juniors and seniors
interested in becoming a Congressional Intern. Please see Mrs. Tracy in
the Guidance & Counseling office for more information.
Interested in the great outdoors? Want a hands-on experience and the
chance to participate in field studies? The new environmental field
studies club is giving students the chance to explore nature, and learn
more about birds, plants, vernal pools in local areas and more. Come to a
meeting this Friday September 4th right after school in S-2, or speak to
Ms. Guiney, Ms. Murphy, or Mr. Goodwin with any questions. Even if you
cannot make the whole meeting, just drop by! Hope to see you there!

COMEDIAN JIMMY TINGLE IS COMING TO CCHS!

Social and political comedian, Jimmy Tingle will headline a benefit for
Communities for Restorative Justice (C4RJ), Sunday, September 13, 2009, at
5:00 PM at the Concord-Carlisle High School Auditorium. A nationally
known comedian who has appeared on the Tonight Show, Larry King Weekend,
the Late Show with Conan O'Brien, the American Comedy Awards, and his own
HBO comedy special, Tingle provides clean, intelligent, and topical humor,
appropriate for high schoolers through the Golden Years. Tickets are $30
in advance or $35 at the door, and may be purchased at the Debras Natural
Gourmet, 98 Commonwealth Avenue; Helens, 17 Main Street; The Cheese Shop,
29 Walden Street; Concord Provisions, 73 Thoreau Street; and Ferns in
Carlisle center. ~ Credit card purchases may be made on line at
www.C4RJ.com.~ Refreshments will be sold at intermission. The late
afternoon performance is to benefit Communities for Restorative Justice
(C4RJ), a volunteer-based community organization that works in partnership
with police departments to offer a process of repair and accountability
for those harmed by crime, the offenders in such cases, and community

agencies offering community service.

CCHS Driver Education
Fall 2009 Classes
CCHS Driver Education consists of 30 classroom hours, 12 hours of
behind-the-wheel instruction, and 12 hours of on-the-road observation.
Parents/guardians are responsible for an additional 40 hours of
on-the-road practice. Students will have one year to complete the program.
3 class times to choose from this fall:DE 105: Monday & Wednesday,
September 14-November 9, 6:30-8:30 PM, CCHSDE 106: Tuesday & Thursday,
September 15-November 3, 2:15-4:15 PM, CCHSDE 107: Sunday, November
1-January 24*, 5:00-8:00 PM, Concord Public Safety Building
Parent meeting (mandatory, choose one): Wednesday, September 16; Thursday,
September 17; Wednesday, December 2; all at 7 PM at CCHS.
