DAILY BULLETIN 
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2009

Seniors—we will begin to issue parking permits during lunch blocks in the
café today.  Please bring license, registration & check for $300.  Yes,
the price has increased.

Tech, sound and stage managers are wanted for Falsettos, the fall musical.
 Interviews for students interested in managerial positions will be this
Friday, September 11 starting at 2:30.  Sign up for an interview on the
sheet on the bulletin board outside the chorus room.  If you have any
questions, see Mr. Roos at WIQH, or Mr. Atlas in S-21.  

Attention alll Jedi Knights, Hogwarts wizards, pokemon trainers and space
marines: the cchs scifi club wants YOU!  Come to our first meeting this
Wednesday at 2:30 pm in H-12.  There will be free pizza!  Get your geek on
and come on down.

The juniors who have open campus are posted on the main office doors.
Studies should be gone from their schedules. These are updated every few
days, and juniors should attend studies until their name is on that list,
or they will be attending detentions. See Mr. Weinstein with questions. 
 
Attention all seniors!  ALL PHOTOS for the yearbook MUST be submitted by
September 15th at the very latest!  That includes senior portraits, baby
photos, baby blurbs, photos from junior prom and the sophomore semi,
senior summer, back in the day photos, and anything else you would like to
be featured in the yearbook.  Again, ALL of these photos are due September
15th.  Please see Joanna Nix or Mr. Sapp with any questions.

There are still several openings in courses offered through Virtual High
School.  Interested students should see Mr. McGrath in the Guidance Office
today and Tuesday.

The Class of 2010 will continue to sell Student Planners during all the
lunch blocks today until they sell out, quantities are limited. Each
planner costs $10. Cash and checks will be accepted. Checks should be made
out to CCHS Class of 2010 for $10.

Attention all students!  EVERYONE is invited to come to the first yearbook
meeting of the year!  Come to offer suggestions for this year's book, as
well as to get involved in the creation of the yearbook.  Photographers
and writers are especially welcome, but no prior experience is necessary. 
We will be meeting this Tuesday in room S-8.  Plenty of snacks will be
provided!

CCHS late buses have started.  The cost is $1 per ride or $50 for the
school year.  The buses leave at 5:00 from the high school driveway,
please see Mrs. Trainor in the Main Office.  Metco students, please see
Ms. Burgos in the Metco Office.
  
The Office of Niki Tsongas is looking for high school juniors and seniors
interested in becoming a Congressional Intern.  Please see Mrs. Tracy in
the Guidance & Counseling office for more information.

FLASH!~ SPECIAL TICKET PRICES FOR CCHS STUDENTS, FACULTY & STAFF!Social
and political comedian, Jimmy Tingle will headline a benefit for
Communities for Restorative Justice (C4RJ), Sunday, September 13, 2009, at
5:00 PM at the Concord-Carlisle High School Auditorium.~ $20 tickets will
be on sale in the CCHS cafeteria, Tuesday 9/8 and Thursday 9/10, during
lunch blocks for CCHS students, faculty & staff!~ ~ Join us for some
laughs!

The Farm at Walden Woods, owned and operated by The Walden Woods Project,
is seeking part time volunteers to work at our farm stand this fall. The
Farm at Walden Woods provides fresh, locally grown produce to the
community and seeks to advance the ongoing conservation efforts of the
Walden Woods Project. Shifts are available from 12pm to 6pm on Thursday,
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from September 15th through October. Your
primary responsibilities will be to manage the cash register, restock
produce as needed, and assist customers with their purchases. This is a
perfect opportunity for high school students to build up community service
hours in a fast passed, demanding, and fun environment.

CCHS Driver Education
Fall 2009 Classes
CCHS Driver Education consists of 30 classroom hours, 12 hours of
behind-the-wheel instruction, and 12 hours of on-the-road observation.
Parents/guardians are responsible for an additional 40 hours of
on-the-road practice. Students will have one year to complete the program.
3 class times to choose from this fall:DE 105: Monday & Wednesday,
September 14-November 9, 6:30-8:30 PM, CCHSDE 106: Tuesday & Thursday,
September 15-November 3, 2:15-4:15 PM, CCHSDE 107: Sunday, November
1-January 24*, 5:00-8:00 PM, Concord Public Safety Building
Parent meeting (mandatory, choose one): Wednesday, September 16; Thursday,
September 17; Wednesday, December 2; all at 7 PM at CCHS.

CCHS Driver Ed Parent Class
To parents of students who will enroll in CCHS Driver Education this year:
The Registry requires that a parent or guardian provide at least 40 hours
of supervised driving to complement the 12 hours of mandated driver
education behind-the-wheel instruction. Parents must also attend a
two-hour parent class. It is open to all CCHS parents, including those
currently in CCHS's driver education program and those who plan to enroll
in a course later this year.
