Amnesty International is a global human rights organization. Human rights
are privileges that every person is innately endowed with, ranging from
the right to be paid for ones labor to intangible things like the right
to freedom of conscience. Members of Amnesty work to bring an end to
injustice by educating people about human rights violations, and by
pressuring oppressive governments to change their policies. This year,
CCs Amnesty group plans to choose several major contemporary human rights
violations, and to spend the year raising awareness in the
Concord-Carlisle community. To learn more, come to Amnestys first
meeting on Monday, October 26 at 5:00 in H-6. Free food, all are welcome.
