Hello Everyone,

CHALLENGE DAY IS BACK!

By now many of you have heard about the amazing Challenge Days that were
held at CCHS in the past. We will host Challenge Days again at CCHS on
December 7, December 8, and December 9, 2009 and we are looking for your
help.

The Challenge Days are part of a larger program entitled Be the Change.
The core philosophy of the Be the Change program is that "every child
deserves to live in a world where they feel safe, loved and celebrated"
Challenge Days are focused on recognizing how participants can influence
change in themselves, their school community and offers them the tools to
effect this change. For further information please visit the links at the
end of this email.

We are looking for parents to help us with the organization and
implementation of this program. To ensure a successful Challenge Day, we
need volunteers. During each Challenge Day, we must have 30 adults
present to help facilitate. When volunteering, please know what you must
be willing to commit to one entire day from 6:55 AM to 2:45 PM and attend
an evening orientation on Monday, November 23, 2009. Some faculty members
will be participating, but we also need community members. We assure you
that participating in a Challenge Day will be a positive life-changing
experience.

If you are interested in helping us, please click on the following link to
enter your information in the online form:

There will be an orientation meeting for all adult facilitators on Monday
November 23, 2009 at 7:30pm in the Library. All facilitators are required
to attend this meeting.

If you have any questions, please direct them to Brian Miller at

Thank you for your interest. We hope you will join us.

Challenge Day provides youths and their communities with experimental
workshops and programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and
connection through the celebration of diversity, truth, and full
expression. Challenge Day is a one-day workshop where students, teachers,
parents, administrators, counselors and members of the community
experience for themselves that love and connection are indeed possible in
our schools. During these days, participants will be engaged in
activities and discussions which will focus on confronting and resolving
many of the issues based upon discrimination, prejudices, stress,
violence, drugs, and alcohol that exist within the walls of our school and
the lives of our students. If you would like to know more about the
program and the Challenge Day itself, we recommend that you go to the
links listed at the end of this message.
