CCPOPS will hold its winter meeting on Monday, January 11th at 7:00 p.m.
in the Little Theatre. The first hour will be information about the Winter
Musical "Wonderful Town" followed by the general meeting at 8:00 p.m. All
are welcome.

The METCO Student Leadership Committee will meet at 230 on Wednesday in
A5. All are welcome. Please come with ideas for the new year!

If you had credit reduction in the first quarter, NOW is the time to fill
out Credit Review Board form.  Please see Mrs. Trainor ASAP.
REMINDER to all students considering applying for the Spring Ruettgers
seminar, "The Power of Shakespeare" - your application essay is due TODAY
by 2:30pm.  Please hand it in to Mr. Nurenberg or to Mr. Pickman.

PROGRAM:  A REMINDER THAT WEDNESDAY IS THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING

The Holy Family Parish Youth in Service, along with the town of Concord
Boy Scouts, will be picking up Christmas trees January 9, 2010.~ This is a
great opportunity for high school students to earn up to 7 community
service hours while providing much needed assistance to the local
community.~ All proceeds from this Christmas Tree Pick Up go directly to
supporting our youth participating in our Summer Service Trip and the town
of Concord Boy Scouts. If you wish to volunteer as a worker (youth or

The deadline to request a tree pickup is Wednesday, January 6th at 5:00
PM.Then put your tree at the end of your driveway by 8:00 AM on the

in a plastic bag.~ Make checks payable to Holy Family Parish.
All proceeds from the tree pickup support the Youth in Service Summer
Service Trip and the many Boy Scouts activities throughout the year.~

CCHS Driver Education Next class begins Monday, January 11 CCHS Driver
Education consists of 30 classroom hours, 12 hours of behind-the-wheel
instruction, and 12 hours of on-the-road observation. Parents/guardians
are responsible for an additional 40 hours of on-the-road practice.
Students will have one year to complete the program. $600 fee for
classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Students must be15 years 10
months of age to begin. DE 108: Monday and Wednesday, 2:15-4:15 PM,
starting January 11, 15 classes, at CCHS.DE 109: Sunday, 6-8 PM, starting
February 28, 15 classes, at Concord Police/Fire Station. Parent meeting
(mandatory, choose one): Thursday, January 21, 7 PM at CCHS or Wednesday,
March 3, 7 PM. All CCHS Driver Ed Requirements are linked at
www.ace.colonial.net (Driver Ed Requirements). To enroll complete the
Driver Ed enrollment forms (available at Main Office or online at
www.ace.colonial.net, downloads) and bring or mail to C-C Community
Education, 500 Walden Street, Concord MA 01742.

SAT I Preparation Winter 2010 The Community Education department sponsors
Summit Education Group classes in order to expand the choices for students
who elect to use a course with a test preparation organization. Three
courses are scheduled for CCHS, in addition to the Kaplan program that is
conducted independently by Kaplan. These courses consist of 40 hours of
preparation, including a diagnostic test to assess strengths and
weaknesses and practice tests to assess progress throughout the program.
Summit's SAT preparation balances academic skills like algebra, critical
reading and grammar with essential test-taking strategies, to offer a
comprehensive and effective preparation program for all students. March

a student-funded community service of theConcord-Carlisle Schools.  To

Instrumental Music Lessons - Second Semester the Instrumental Music School
of Carlisle and Concord (IMSCC) welcomes new students for the
Winter/Spring session starting in January. Now a fee-based program of the
Community Education Department, IMSCC was established 30 years ago by the
schools to provide after school lessons. MSCC offers individual lessons on
all band and orchestral instruments, as well as piano, voice, guitar and
bass guitar, and a Chamber Music program for small ensemble playing.
Lessons are given at CCHS, Sanborn, Peabody, and Carlisle Schools.
Registration is now open for Winter/Spring classes. For more information
