Attention all boys interested in playing baseball this spring, there will
be a brief meeting with Coach Kelly this Thursday, at 2:15 in S-16.
Help Coffee House kick off the New Year with its first event of 2010! It's
HIP HOP NIGHT! Saturday, January 9th, from 7:30 to 10:30, bring your crew
downstage at Emerson Umbrella to experience some serious beats.
Performances by students you know, and a door price of only $3, make sure
to stop by! Come ready to dance!
ALL STUDENTS: Need community service hours? Earn up to 7 hours by helping
Holy Family Parish Youth in Service & the Boy Scouts of Concord in the
Christmas tree pick up THIS Saturday, the 9th. If interested, please
contact Kelly McManama or Mallory Mizia through first class or in person.

Attention BookPALS participants, our second trip to the Condon School in
Boston is next Tuesday, January 12. (Please note the date change from the
original list!) The bus will leave promptly at 2:15 from the main
entrance in front of the cafeteria.
Volleyball Skills Clinic - Introducing a ten week volleyball skills clinic
open to all 7th - 12th grade girls and boys interested in Volleyball.
~Experienced and new players welcome. ~Run by Coach Mike Gomez, an
experienced volleyball player and coach. ~Tuesday evenings January 12,
2010 through March 23, 2010 (no session during February vacation) 6pm -
8pm at the Peabody Middle School gymnasium, Concord. ~Ten week session

The Holy Family Parish Youth in Service, along with the town of Concord
Boy Scouts, will be picking up Christmas trees January 9, 2010.~ This is a
great opportunity for high school students to earn up to 7 community
service hours while providing much needed assistance to the local
community.~ All proceeds from this Christmas Tree Pick Up go directly to
supporting our youth participating in our Summer Service Trip and the town
of Concord Boy Scouts. If you wish to volunteer as a worker (youth or

All proceeds from the tree pickup support the Youth in Service Summer
Service Trip and the many Boy Scouts activities throughout the year.~

CCHS Driver Education Next class begins Monday, January 11 CCHS Driver
Education consists of 30 classroom hours, 12 hours of behind-the-wheel
instruction, and 12 hours of on-the-road observation. Parents/guardians
are responsible for an additional 40 hours of on-the-road practice.
Students will have one year to complete the program. $600 fee for
classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Students must be15 years 10
months of age to begin. DE 108: Monday and Wednesday, 2:15-4:15 PM,
starting January 11, 15 classes, at CCHS.DE 109: Sunday, 6-8 PM, starting
February 28, 15 classes, at Concord Police/Fire Station. Parent meeting
(mandatory, choose one): Thursday, January 21, 7 PM at CCHS or Wednesday,
March 3, 7 PM. All CCHS Driver Ed Requirements are linked at
www.ace.colonial.net (Driver Ed Requirements). To enroll complete the
Driver Ed enrollment forms (available at Main Office or online at

SAT I Preparation Winter 2010
The Community Education department sponsors Summit Education Group classes
in order to expand the choices for students who elect to use a course with
a test preparation organization. Three courses are scheduled for CCHS, in
addition to the Kaplan program that is conducted independently by Kaplan.
These courses consist of 40 hours of preparation, including a diagnostic
test to assess strengths and weaknesses and practice tests to assess
progress throughout the program. Summit's SAT preparation balances
academic skills like algebra, critical reading and grammar with essential
test-taking strategies, to offer a comprehensive and effective preparation

Instrumental Music Lessons - Second Semester the Instrumental Music School
of Carlisle and Concord (IMSCC) welcomes new students for the
Winter/Spring session starting in January. Now a fee-based program of the
Community Education Department, IMSCC was established 30 years ago by the
schools to provide after school lessons. MSCC offers individual lessons on
all band and orchestral instruments, as well as piano, voice, guitar and
bass guitar, and a Chamber Music program for small ensemble playing.
Lessons are given at CCHS, Sanborn, Peabody, and Carlisle Schools.
Registration is now open for Winter/Spring classes. For more information
