Attention all WIQH members:  please stop by the radio station briefly
after school on Thursday to be part of the radio station's picture for
this year's yearbook.  We'll be done with the picture by 2:30 so you can
make practices, etc.  Check the list posted on the WIQH bulletin board if
you're not sure whether you're an IQH member!

Come by WIQH Friday from 3:30 to 5 to hear Ricky Napolitano and Rob Macy
play some sensitive alternative rock. If you can't make the concert, you
can always listen online at WIQH.org and on the air at 88.3 FM.

THE CCHS NEWSPAPER, THE VOICE, WILL BE HOLDING A MEETING TO ASSIGN STORIES
FOR THE FEBRUARY ISSUE ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON AT 2:20 IN H-12.  WE NEED
WRITERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS.  ALL ARE WELCOME!  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. 
ANYONE INTERESTED IN AN EDITORIAL POSITION ON NEXT YEAR'S VOICE STAFF
SHOULD ALSO ATTEND.  CONTACT CELESTE HALL OR MS. LEE-DUBON IN THE ENGLISH
DEPARTMENT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Bring your family out to celebrate MLK Day in a riveting, step-clubbing,
gospel-singing way!! TONIGHT at Sanborn Middle School, from 7-8:30 pm,
Concord's MLK Celebration starts with his 'I have a dream' speech, gets
pumped with the CCHS Step Club, and is inspired by the Willard School
Chorus, the Boston Children's Chorus and the Holy Tabernacle Women's
Gospel Choir. Find out about the Drinking Gourd Project's progress with
saving the Caesar Robbins (former Concord slave & Revolutionary War
Patriot) house and moving it near the North Bridge as Concord's Civil
Liberties Center. Free & sponsored by the Concord-Carlisle Human Rights
Council. We hope to see you there!

Summer Fun in February - Save the Date!
CCHS Summer Opportunities Fair - Monday, February 1
Come join us at the 29th Annual Summer Opportunities Fair to be held
Monday, February 1, 2010, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. (snow date is February 2)
in the CCHS cafeteria.~ This event provides parents and students from K-12
the means to explore some exciting alternatives to the usual summer
activities, and brings together representatives from approximately 90
organizations to present summer opportunities held locally, nationally and
aboard.~ Exhibitors will be present to display information on wilderness
adventures, educational and enrichment opportunities, foreign language and
student exchange programs and~volunteer opportunities, as well as
traditional, sports and special-needs camps.~ This event is sponsored by
the CCHS Parents' Association.~

Concord Conservatory of Music Jazz Instruction
Registration for The Concord Conservatory of Music’s winter semester group
classes and private instrument instruction is now open.~ The music school
has launched a new Jazz program.~ Jazz is spontaneous and fun; it expands
the imagination and sharpens the mind. Jazz combines note reading and
improvisation and promotes rhythmic flexibility with an emphasis on the
social aspects of music making.~ CCM offers the study of private Jazz
instruction on all instruments. Every student of Jazz needs to develop not
only awareness and understanding of jazz tradition, but a personal style
within the tradition. This course of study is designed to develop
improvisation skills which will lead to playing in an ensemble setting CCM
private students and outside students will be grouped in small ensembles
according to experience and level. Registrations are accepted online, in

SAT I Preparation Winter 2010
The Community Education department sponsors Summit Education Group classes
in order to expand the choices for students who elect to use a course with
a test preparation organization. Three courses are scheduled for CCHS, in
addition to the Kaplan program that is conducted independently by Kaplan.
These courses consist of 40 hours of preparation, including a diagnostic
test to assess strengths and weaknesses and practice tests to assess
progress throughout the program. Summit's SAT preparation balances
academic skills like algebra, critical reading and grammar with essential
test-taking strategies, to offer a comprehensive and effective preparation
program for all students. March 2010 test 12 classes Mondays & Wednesdays,

Instrumental Music Lessons - Second Semester the Instrumental Music School
of Carlisle and Concord (IMSCC) welcomes new students for the
Winter/Spring session starting in January. Now a fee-based program of the
Community Education Department, IMSCC was established 30 years ago by the
schools to provide after school lessons. MSCC offers individual lessons on
all band and orchestral instruments, as well as piano, voice, guitar and
bass guitar, and a Chamber Music program for small ensemble playing.
Lessons are given at CCHS, Sanborn, Peabody, and Carlisle Schools.
Registration is now open for Winter/Spring classes.  For more information
