There will be an extended homeroom TODAY for the distribution of the final
second quarter attendance reports and Course Selection sheets for the
2010-2011 school year.
Reminder! Both locker rooms will be locked at 7:30 AM until 2:10PM.
Students in Health and Fitness activity classes should arrive on time for
class, so as to not be locked out.
All Freshmen: Don't forget your meeting with your guidance counselor this
week. This meeting is not optional! You must attend to schedule your
classes for next year. Groups will meet in the Library, FIRST FLOOR.
All Juniors: Class of 2011 and their parents are invited to the
post-secondary planning night offered by the CCHS Guidance Dept. TODAY
7:00 pm. There are a variety of workshops pertaining to college planning.

Just when you thought it was safe to come back to sci-fi club - chain
stories are back! Come to sci-fi TODAY at 2:30 in H-12 for another round
of chain story madness. Free pizza, all are welcome.
Are you a junior or senior interested in taking the AP Literature and
Composition exam in May? If so, come to a brief informational meeting
after school at 2:30 pm TODAY in Room H-14 or see Mr. Woodnal in the
English Office for more information.
Green Revolution meets TODAY after school in S-16 at 2:20. Come be a part
of the new environmental club! The Infrared camera and home energy
analysis equipment is in. Come check it out.
CCs famous bands like Alien in Alien, Desiccation and About Five
along with the great new talent of The Humans From Mars and Survive The
Fall, all in this years Battle of the Bands this Saturday night. Get
your tickets for only $12, on sale in the café during all lunch blocks
this week.
Green Revolution presents its second film, FLOW, about the growing world
water crisis. Come see the film and get Earth Science and community
service credit on February 9th at 6:30 in the Little Theater.
Slam Dunk for San Marcos!
The CCHS Boys Basketball teams are holding a charity fundraiser basketball
game for the benefit of the Concord-San Marcos Sister Cities Committee. It
will be on Friday, February 5 at CC vs. Tyngsboro High School. Proceeds
will be donated to the Sister Cities Committee to support its humanitarian
activities in San Marcos. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students
and children, and are available from Mrs. Hammer in the CCHS office or any
member of the Varsity, JV, or Freshman boys basketball teams. Please
come support the boys basketball teams and Concords Sister City in
Nicaragua!
Attention all CCHS students. Maybe you can go now! The date for the Ice
Climbing Trip has been changed to Saturday, Feb 20th Sign up now to save
your spot!
Ice Climbing Trip Where: ~Auburn, MA When: Saturday, February 20th Time:
Meet in front of the high school at 8:00 am. Return to CCHS for pickup
around 4- 5 pm (we'll call rides on our way back) Cost: $50 per person
includes transportation, climbing lesson, and gear. What to Bring:
Backpack with lots of water, snacks, and a nonperishable lunch. What to
Wear: Dress as if you were going skiing or snowboarding - NOTHING Cotton!
Wear synthetic clothing in layers Be sure you have hats, mittens & winter
boots on Some of you might want to buy those hand and feet warmers
Permission slips can be found on Student News, on the bulletin board
outside the math office, or by emailing Ms. Giunta at lgiunta at colonial.net
Return the attached permission slips (both of them) with a check made out
to CCHS Outdoor Club ASAP~to Ms. Giunta in the Math Dept. or S-26 Office
Minimum of 5 students needed to run this trip (max of ~7). First come,

Carlisle's 2010 Chinese Community Play seeks back stage helpers, lighting
techs, make-up artists, costume controllers, and a prop manager for the
drama "The Magic Paintbrush". We could also use ushers, food servers, pre
event decorators/set up and a post event clean-up crew. For students who
can help ahead of our show, a Dress rehearsal after school on Thursday
February 4th. We rehearse in Mr. Zuckerman's room #2 at the Carlisle
Public school every day after school until 4:00pm if a student wanted to
stop in to see what's what.
You are invited to a Powering the Future forum, Our Community and
Tomorrows Energy, on Friday, February 5, 7-9 pm, at the Harvey Wheeler
Community Center, 1276 Main St., W. Concord, MA. (Snow date: Feb. 7.)~ The
forum, part of the Life in the Balance series, will focus on
community-level solutions to energy challenges. Mass. Representative Will
Brownsberger, whose work in the State House has emphasized the
environment, transportation and carbon reduction, will deliver the keynote
speech; Gretchen Brewer will address recycling and waste-to-energy
programs; Dr. Warren Leon, co-author of The Consumers Guide to Effective
Environmental Choices, will discuss home energy choices; and Christopher
Ryan will speak to localization and related planning issues. After the
panel we discuss local responses to the issues. This free forum is open to
all; refreshments will be served.~ Sponsored by League of Women Voters of
Concord-Carlisle, ConcordCAN (Climate Action Network), Carlisle Climate
Action, and Concord-Carlisle Schools/Adult & Community Education.
