AP Sign Ups - February 22 to March 5th. Cost $86 per exam. See Mrs.
Coleman in the main office to sign up.
Applications are now being accepted for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
also known as the RYLA. The weekend conference to take place from June 25
to June 27, 2010. Information and application in the March Newsletter, on
the sophomore list serve, or see Mrs. Coleman in the main office.
The winner of the Library Valentine Contest Guess the Number of Candy
Hearts in the Jar is Rachel Ehlers with a guess of 530. The actual
number of Hearts was 542. Rachel, please come to the library today to pick
up your prize.
Used soccer equipment drive to benefit a school in Rwanda. Drop off box
put in the office. These children have no equipment at all, so balls, used
cleats, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Students interested in donating
could contact Kaytie Innamorati for information.
All Sophomores: Don't forget your meeting with your guidance counselor
this week. This meeting is not optional! You must attend to schedule your
classes for next year. Groups will meet in the UPPER LIBRARY.
Battle of the Bands T-shirts and posters are still available from WIQH.
Posters are $4; t-shirts are $15. Stop by WIQH and get yours before
they're gone!
Show some love for Haiti! Make your own Valentines with Amnesty
International during D, E, and F blocks throughout the week. Each
Valentine will cost $2 to make--we provide the supplies and you bring your
own creativity! All proceeds will go towards Amnesty's human rights work
in the wake of Haiti's disaster.
Spring sports will be starting before you know it. Please stop by the
health office and check the status of your physical. Physicals must be
current to participate in tryouts. Please make sure our records reflect
your current date.
Any juniors or seniors interested in taking the AP Literature and
Composition exam in May and would like to take part in Mr. Woodnal's
preparatory sessions must contact Mr. Woodnal via First Class email or in
person in Room H-13 this week. If you have already signed up for the prep
sessions, please check your First Class email for instructions.
To all writers! The Short Story and Nonfiction Writing Contest is coming
up. Submit one Short Story and/or one Nonfiction piece of about 2500
words, typed and double spaced to compete for one of the three generous
cash prizes and the publication of your work in Reflections Magazine. You
can submit something you have already written or create new masterpiece!
Please send submissions by email to Lucy Fandel or Mr. Pickman by March
1st, 2010.
Please help provide food for those in need. The Class of 2012 is
sponsoring a canned food drive. Food donations will help supply Cor Unum
in Lawrence, MA. Lawrence is one of the poorest communities in MA. As
neighbors - we have an opportunity to make a difference to those in need.
Collection boxes will be located in all English classes. Bring some canned
goods and remind a friend to do the same. (Spread the word and help a
neighbor!) Prizes will be awarded to the class who brings in the most cans!
The late winter musical, Wonderful Town, needs ushers for its
performances. Performances are, Friday, Saturday & Sunday February 26, 27
& 28 and Friday, Saturday & Sunday March 5, 6 & 7. Please sign up on the
drama bulletin board by the chorus room if you're interested.

with their Open Studio for kids during the February vacation. Contact

CCHS Driver Education
Classes begin in February, April and June. Limited enrollment, early
sign-up advised. You must be 15 years 10 months to begin, and 16 by the
final classroom date. Behind-the-wheel instruction is part of the program,
and you can begin after you take your first classroom section if you have
your Learners Permit. You should finish your required behind-the-wheel
time within one year. Enrollment information at www.ace.colonial.net or at
the Community Education office (L Building) or call 318-1540. Fee: $600
for Spring classes ($625 for summer class unless prepaid by June 1)
