us for an informative and enlightening talk that you won't want to miss!

 in collaboration with the
 Center for Parents and Teachers

"When 'Just Say No' Isn't Enough:
Safeguarding Your Teen from the Dangers of Substance Use"


Dr. Scott E. Lukas, professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology at Harvard
Medical School and Director of the Behavioral Psychopharmacology Research
Laboratory at McLean Hospital will join us for an informative session on
keeping kids healthy and safe from the effects of substance use and abuse.
 

Dr. Lukas was enthusiastically received last spring when he spoke with
parents at the Concord Middle School and was encouraged to return again to
continue sharing his expertise with our community.  

Dr. Lukas' style is compelling, approachable and down to earth. He weaves
practical application in with cutting edge research.  His knowledge of the
teen social scene comes from his clinical practice and, more personally,
from being the father of adolescent girls.

 In his presentation, Dr. Lukas will address:

  · New research findings on how alcohol, tobacco and drugs significantly
    affect the developing adolescent brain;
The red flags that signal substance use and abuse;
Ways to guide your kids to stay clear of these substances;
Audience questions.

The presentation will take place at CCHS on Monday, March 1st at 7 PM.
