FAMILY VACATIONS AND END OF YEAR ABSENCE
Parents and students are reminded that Massachusetts Law requires
compulsory attendance for students. We strongly discourage family
vacations when school is in session. In addition to compromising the
attendance law, family vacations interrupt the educational process of each
course in ways that make-up work cannot reverse. If family vacations are
planned, an email (pbadalament at colonial.net & [
fcp://@mail.colonial.net,%235003235/Mailbox/mhammer@colonial.net
]mhammer at colonial.net) from the parent/guardian must be submitted to the
principal at least 1 month before the vacation date. Please note that
teachers are not required to make special provisions for students who miss
school for family vacations.

Alcott Elementary School will be holding its annual Science Fair on
Saturday, March 20th from 9 - 11am. There is an opportunity for
approximately 20 CCHS students to volunteer to help us that morning if
they'd like. We are in need of "Interviewers" to ask the children
questions about their projects (no judging), and "Concession Attendants"
to sell coffee, waters and nut-free snacks at the event.

The Concord Police Department and the Concord Rotary will be sponsoring
RAD for adult females. RAD is Rape Aggression Defense Systems, which is a

techniques, providing an effective and proven method of self-defense for
females. High School females are encouraged to participate. RAD classes
will be held Tuesday evenings March 9, 16, 23 and 30, from Class 6:30PM to
