Student Volunteer Presidents Service Award Applications Due April 1
CCHS students have a requirement to complete 40 hours of community service
in order to graduate. However, many students go far beyond that minimal
requirement out of interest or commitment to the concept of community
service as a responsibility.
The Presidents Volunteer Service Award, signed by President Barack Obama,
and is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer
service and civic participation over the course of a 12-month
period. Students must serve more than 100 hours per any 12 month period to
be eligible. There are three categories of award; Bronze Award 100-174
hours; Silver Award 175-249 hours and the Gold Award for more than 250
hours per 12 months.
Applications for this prestigious award are available on line at [
http://www.concordcarlisle.net/ ]www.concordcarlisle.net, the home page
for CCHS. Click on the Community Service at CCHS link and check out the
Awards section of the 2Volunteer website. Applications are also available
in the Main Office.
A student may apply or a teacher or volunteer site may nominate a
student. DEADLINE IS April 1st, 2010. Awards are given to eligible
students at the May Awards Night Events.
