Dear Parents and Students,

I welcome you back to the 2010-11 school year! It's been a great summer
for many of us, but the rhythm of the seasons calls as to the schoolhouse
as summer wanes.

I wanted to make everyone aware of a few important resources that are
available as well as a few new features of our attendance system:

- Additional counseling support for students who are feeling overwhelmed
as school starts are available in Guidance. A counselor from Riverside
Services will be here on the first day of school; see Mrs. Tracy or Mrs.
MacHaffie in Guidance and they will direct to the counselor's location.

- CCHS as now a part of Project Interface. Interface is a collaboration of
public schools, community-based agencies, healthcare providers, parents
and students dedicated to improving access to mental health and wellness
services and systems. Simply put, if you are looking for mental health
resources or your family is on crisis, you can access support by going to
their website at http://www.projectinterface.org/.

- In the Attendance realm we are changing our practices a bit:
	- Parents and students can now access the Parent/Student Portal and
receive live attendance information.
	- You are now expected to correct errors or get in a missed phone
call/note within 3 days of the absence.
	- Attendance reports will still be distributed during 1st Quarter but we
will discontinue doing so after this period.
	- In terms of credit reduction, we have changed back to the system in
which 8 total absences will only lead to CR if you have 1 unexcused as
well.
If you have any questions about this information, please contact your
Guidance Counselor or a member of the Administration.

I hope that everyone has a great start to their school year!

Best,

Mr. Badalament
